LCD Screen Protector

Can anyone recommend a screen protector for a 4.3 Garmin. I have heard that the Invisishield from Zagg is very good, but I do not know if it can be easily removed. Some of the others appear to be difficult to apply to the screen without leaving air bubbles. I want to protect the lcd screen from scratches without loosing clarity. I would appreciate any recommendations

I have a Navigon hard case that I purchased at Staples that provides excellent protection for the entire unit.

I bought an unknown brand

I bought an unknown brand from best buy for like $5.00, first time I put it on it had lots of air bubbles, so I removed it and stick it on a second time and was able to get the bubbles out very easy. I haven't notice any different in the view of the GPS with o without the screen protector.

Which ever one you buy just make sure to take your time sticking it on the screen and push out bubbles as you go.

I've sampled a bunch.

Invisishield is the winner.

(There's enough of a gap around the perimeter that would permit it to be removed in the future.

In my experience, any screen

In my experience, any screen protector should work.

I used a generic screen protector made by Belkin, bought from walmart, that works just fine. I just had to measure and cut out to size.

The air bubbles gradually disappear.

Invisibleshield / best skins all work too.

So pick whatever is convenient to you, take the time to size it right if you're using generic, and it should work fine.

Screen Protectors

I've been using a screen protector sold by a company called NuShield on my Palm T3 for a few years now. The have all different size protectors and their web site list the model numbers that fit different GPS screens. The protector floats on the screen and the edges tuck under the edges of the case. I used to use one that had some type of adhesive that stuck to the screen but they were really hard to remove. Google NuShield and read about them.

I got mine at Radioshack.

I got mine at Radioshack. Sure there are a few air bubbles, which you can largely avoid by careful application using the little squeegee. The few remaining I really don't mind. You can hardly see them when the unit is turned on.

eBay

Got mine from there. It's thick, durable and cheap. It too leaves a little gap but it don't interfere at all. I did a search for garmin model and screen protector.

Best I've found -by far!

I'm using a film that I started using to protect my iPhone. I've had laptops & Palm Pilots for years & have used many different screen protectors, all which did the trick but always made the screen feel soft or rubbery & were difficult to apply without trapping air bubbles.

I recommend Power Support's Anti Glare screen protector available at any Apple Store or at http://www.powersupportusa.com/products/ef.php?category=pb

I bought the smallest one available & had enough to cover my 765t, my wife's, my kid's Palm Pilot & have enough left over to replace them all when they wear out.

There are many great things about this Anti Glare film; it's thick, has a matte/anti glare finish, holds well but leaves no residue when removed, is extremely durable (had the same piece on my iPhone for over a year & still looks new), it's easy to apply without getting any air bubbles & the best part is that it DOESN'T SHOW ANY FINGERPRINTS. Even though the 765t had a matte sceen to start with, it showed every fingerprint which looked terrible.

When you want to remove it, simply press a piece of scotch tape near any side or corner & it lifts right off! You can even take it off, wash it, let it dry & put it back on.

By the way, I am in no way affiliated with this company. I just love to pass along to others when I find something that does what it's supposed to do.

Washable

I always look for a washable screen protector. So you can always take it off and re-apply. At least you wont have to worry about air bubbles.

InvisibleSHIELD

I found Invisible SHIELD, made by ZAGG, to be an excellent protector for my camera screen. It even hides the small scratches that were already on the screen. Haven't put one on my Nuvi yet. Check out www.zagg.com.
