Garmin talk

I have a nuvi 350. I had it connected to my laptop. unconnected it and turned it off. In less than 5 min I turned turning it on and it would not. reconnected it to the laptop and again no power. I have pressed the re set
button and nothing happens.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am on vacation and do need the nuvi to work.

Hello..I have the Garmin nuvi 750...i have downloaded numberous POI files....installed the POI loader or updater...but when driving around the POI dont show up on the map...is there something I am not doing ? THANKS

I know that certain words like "Redlight", "Safety", "Mobile", etc are used as keywords that trigger proximity alerts and I know that I can change the proximity setting for each.

What I don't know and haven't been able to find, is if there is a different proximity distance setting related to each keyword or are all of them the same distance .25 miles.

Garmin has released a update for MSN receivers. Changes are:

Reduce the time it takes to start receiving traffic data.

Fix display of 'Unknown' for gas station name.

I use the TourGuide in the file name and add distance from 1/4 to 1 1/4 mile.See post http://www.poi-factory.com/node/7043 6Th post down.This allows me to use express mode instead of the manual mode.

Hello to all, I am just wondering if there is bundle of Red light and speed cameras for Canada, or do they have to be down loaded separately by Province? I am computor literate on a mac, but this all seems very hard for me. Also, I do have the procimity Icon in the tools, but no metres adjustment. Can I have a Alert show up and or warnings of any sort. Thanks if you can help. Wayne

My 255W has just completed a 4 month 4000 mile trip.I always have good signal strength from its position in the Chevy Astro cup holder.
One day 6 hours in, on a trip segment in Arizona, it suddenly lost the signal for the first time.By moving it up on the dash, the signal returns.Why after all that time has it lost its sensitivity?

I recently downloaded all the Fuelmans in TN by way of Google Earth and then converted them to a CSV File. I have done this in the past and everything worked fine,matter of fact I gave it to several employees and the poi worked on all garmin devices. This time however I am having a problem. It seems that the new version of Google Earth postions the point directly over the gas station.

Just wondering how people find this feature.. good..bad..indifferent. I haven't used it but wanted to hear from people who have and figure out if it's a worth while feature to add to my new Garmin wish list.

After ignoring the constant "new" voices being available for download via WebUpdater for the longest time now (since they were never actually "updated", even after updating them time and time again), it looks like they have actually now been truly updated. For example, American English-Jill went from v1.90 to v2.20.

So........did a search on these words to no avail, is there a way to save the favorites file in case one needs to reset or downgrade SW version thereby losing all personal data and favorites? I'm aware the personal data will have to be reset but what about the favorites file?

For bragging rights (or to prove your addiction to custom POI's ... how many custom POI's are you currently loading?

I'm not talking about number of POI groups ... I'm talking about individual POI's as reported by POILOADER.

Come on, can anybody beat 87,269?

Sorry if this ahs already been answered...but my Nuvi 755T has no traffic service in Vancouver...according to Garmin, Navteq's only Canadian service point is Toronto. Is there any way to get service? I have lifetime traffic on my unit and I can't use it up here.

Can anyone offer any advice or opinions?
