755T QUESTIONS

Hello everyone and before I get started here, let me thank all of you that replied to my original "more confused than ever" post. I learned alot from your replies ( never owned a gps before ) and i've pretty much narrowed my list down to 2 or 3. After reading alot of your replies I was strongly considering either the 760 or 750 ( probably the 750 ) but I'm wondering should I be concerned about buying a unit that's already been discontinued? Also with regard to that unit, it dosn't have "hotfix". Will that have an adverse effect on satellite acquisition or holding a satellite? I'm also considering the 755T. It has some bells and whistles that would be nice, but not necessary for me.. also the price is approx. 140.00 more than the 750 and thats' a big concern. and then I've read that there are ad's that pop up because of the lifetime traffic on the 755t.. are these ads intrusive to the point of distraction.... really think I'm headed toward the 760 / 750 if in fact I'm not buying a unit that's basically obsolete... your pros and cons are certainly appreciated... thanks again.

Ps... was surprised that in my original post, I mentioned I was considering the nuvi 5000 but there was not 1 reply either way on that model...that in itself says something dosn't it?

have the 765t

Roland - I have the 765t and love it.

The "hotfix" does acquire sat. much faster than my old nuvi360- which is nice.

The traffic has been great - saved me lots of time on numerous occasions, and, no, the ads are not intrusive at all. In fact, I almost never even notice them ... they are small, and only show up when you are not moving.

The other AWESOME feature is the Lane Assist ... couldn't imagine going back to a unit without it!

I also have a 765T

and I agree you won't notice the ads much at all...in fact you have to be completely stopped for 10 seconds before they even show, and are very small, and don't block much of the map at all.
