I have a Garmin Nuvi 660 Newely Overhauled. I got the Garmin Lock to work a few times but not it wont work. Any ideas as to what to do.

I got a question about Mapsource. Since my GPSMap 76 only has 8 MB of memory and it does not accept external memory card, therefore the memory space to upload maps is very limited on this GPS. Can MAPSource load just the map only into the GPS without loading all other built-in point of interests from the map.

How to crack Garmin Lock for Nuvi 360 and probably other Nuvi models.

I have Garmin 255W with the 2010 map installed. I am trying to enter a hotel address into my GPS. I have tried every conceivable approach with no success. For example I tried entering the city name and my GPS did not find any city in Utah named Bryce Canyon. The address I am trying to enter is:

Hey guy's i need to know how i can update the maps for this unit,i see garmins web site has no offering for this unit,i know it's a older unit but it's still good works fine and i'd like to keep using it. I updated the soft wear(ver.6.10,audio ver.2.60)just need to find the mapping update now,currant mapping ver. on the unit now is North America NT v8. How old is this ver by the way??

Hello everyone im new with gps systems but i finally bought my first one a couple days ago (GARMIN NUVI 780). i recently activated the msn direct trial but i have one big issue. The local events feature says there are no local events nearby and it needs a couple of hours to gather the data... i have tried calling customer support and they have resent the signal.

Anyone have practical suggestions for the following problem:

I've installed Gamin and MapSourse on my Home Desktop but would now like to have everything loaded on my Laptop which I can take with me on motorcycle trips throughout Canada and the US.

Any solutions other than:

a) uninstalling from the PC and installing to the Laptop (has anyone done this and is it fault proof?); or

My wife's 265T came home yesterday in a mess. I don't know what she did and she doesn't either. Most of the settings had gone back to factory original defaults. The bluetooth was not set up. The ecoRoute was not set up. Favorites were missing and some new ones were there (Garmin Offices). When I tried to set things up again I came up with a strange symbol in place of the $ for ecoRoute.

One of the most disappointing features of my new 780 is the FM Transmitter. This appears to be an issue that crosses many if not most of the Nuvi units that have the feature.

It is basically useless. Even when set to a blank station, the transmitter is still too weak to make a strong solid signal.

I have a Nuvi 360 and latey the map display with the GPS in use has been slow to update.

Sometimes it would stop for about 5-7 seconds then update and I have missed a few streets to turn onto from this problem.

Could it be from too many POI's loaded into my GPS?

The question is really about if garmin gives an update for refurbished models that come from Garmin. I know the new ones do but haven't found anything for refurbs. I quess I could always get my answer when I get mine.

I recently received a replacement 765T, and wanted to put some custom POI's back on with POI Loader.

when I went to do so in manual mode, it went fine until the last step, when it gave me an error that it couldn't write to E:\Garmin\POI\poi.gpi.

Map Display
I normally set my map to “normal”. I recently changed it to” more” and I did not see much difference in the display on the screen. I didn’t notice much more roads etc. What setting do you normally use? Does the “most” setting crowd the screen with too much detail and causes a reduction in loading the screen during recalculations?
Any tips to offer?

I've got an older Nuvi 660 and I've noticed the newer Garmin software puts a speed limit indicator on the screen to help you see the speed of the street that you are on.

A friend of mine just bought a NUVI 7xx series. When I took a look at it, it was running the NT 2009 maps. Upon registering at Garmin's site, we were able to download the 2010.10 update! It is almost a 2gb file and takes a while to download, install and update the gps. The resulting installed package can be used (with a key from Garmin) to update additional GPSes or datacards.

I have a Garmin 650 that I downloaded the POI file for rest stops.ALso the file that says "rest area ahead". I would like to change the distance at which it alerts me of the Rest Area. Do I have to reload everything again?
If I have to reload do I have to delete the file first or will the new file write over it?

Costco.com has the Nuvi 855 for $299.95 after a $200.00 rebate, but the reviews I've read on their site are mostly negative. Are there any 855 owners here that can tell me what's wrong with this unit?

I have the Starbucks file loaded and it is working. I can't figure out why it Will alert "You are approaching Starbucks" at least 3 times. This is as I drive by a place that is adjacent to the road I frequently drive. It's not just approach , nearby and leaving as I keep driving. I have all my proxmity distances set at 1320 feet.

just a few minutes ago, I hooked up my 765T and went to MyDashboard on the Garmin site, and it told me that a software update for it was available.

that was not the case yesterday

before blindly clicking to update, I decided to run WebUpdater, to see what it showed

and it showed no new firmware, only a few MSN and voice related updates.
