Replacing ny Nuvi 760

Hello all,

I recently had my Nuvi ripped off. It was a break in....long story. Anyway, I will need to replace it. The insurance is covering the loss. My question is do I go with the Nuvi 760, 765, or is there a new one on the horizon. I hate buying something only to have a new one introduced a month later. Not that I need the latest greatest, but the sale price of the older models get better and better.

Thanks

765T is your best choice,

765T is your best choice, has lifetime traffic, and 3D

I'd probably go with the 765

I'd probably go with the 765 as well. I love my 760, and all its features, and if it were to die, or walk away, I'd want a similar unit. The 765 is that unit.

xx5

i think all the units ending in '5' have that new 'Lane Assist' feature.. omg i am soooo wanting this feature.. you are so lucky you got yours stolen!!!

did they steal just the unit itself. or did they steal the mount and the wire/traffic antenna along with it?

Depends on what ins pays

If you just want to replace the 760..Amazon has them on sale for 199..they also had the 780 for 199 for a couple days. I like a couple features of the XX5 models..

That's what I was thinking, the 760 is not very old, why not get a like model and enjoy the price break.....

If it were me I would . . .

If it were me I would stick with the 760. The newer series have fewer features, including the inability to display the upcoming street name, as this was a patent infringement one of their competitors. Garmin lost the case and had to remove it from their newer units. One I will greatly miss if I elect to go with a Garmin after my 760 craps out. I have the lifetime traffic and nuMaps. It works great with the 4.8 update.

Don't worry about your new Nuvi being outdated a month after you buy it. It will be. So just go buy a 765T and enjoy it.

765t

the Nuvi 765t would be my choice. The price is going down. I think I saw it for $329 at Best Buy.

Wow. Very interesting. I never knew about this.
That's good to know.

Which of Garmin's competitor had that patent?

Get the 760 and pocket the difference.
It doesn't make any sense to pay almost $300(or more) for a 765 when you can get a 760 for <$200.

Replacing the 760

Such a decision would be a no brainer for me. I think a 760 or even a 750 (if you don't need bluetooth) at todays prices is just one of the best values out there, discontinued or not.
