Garmin talk

I just started having a problem with my 760. After awhile it begins to stop giving directions voice directions or warnings about Red Light cameras. It doesn't completely stop, but becomes intermittent. If I stop routing and reenter the destination, it will begin working again.

It has latest maps and software from Garmin.

Any ideas?

I ask because they're so much cheaper and you can buy lifetime update tickets.

im trying to load the FDNY box locations poi file to my garmin nuvi 265w but am unable to get the file to transfer from my computer to the gps unit! any help out there?

I have a 1450 and I was wondering if anyone has deleted voice files to make room?

My GPS has decided to talk with long gaps in her speech. All the instructions come through but there are long gaps.
. Any ideas for a fix

I have a new Garmin 1490LMT. I lost the voice the other day. It was very cold that morning. After several minutes I powered it off then on and it came back fine. Anyone else experience this problem? Just wondered if this is a common problem. I have the latest firmware.

Just drove from Northern California to Phoenix, AZ. I have the 2009 maps in my Nuvi 650. I downloaded POIs, icons and sounds for gas stops. There are lots of new gas stations, strip malls, etc! But they never showed up on the screen. Sounds didn't work, icons never showed, empty fields are what I saw. Anyone that has downloaded 2011 maps, are you satisfied? Improvements?

Someone wrote a few weeks ago how to convert the speed file so that I can choose a specific distance for all the alerts to go off. I looked through my old posts and unfortunately cannot locate that thread.

Could someone please explain how this is accomplished, I've tried several times and can't figure it out.

I have these files I got while registering my Garmin I got the other day, They are the latest they have on the site.

I can put them up via zip and if someone knows what to do with them they can probably use them, they are in .img and other formats.

Noticed a few days ago that on view map the vehicle icon is wandering around MyHome location leaving a chicken scratch of movement lines. The vehicle is moving to catch up with noticeable small changes in latitude/longitude numbers, but where would these slightly varied numbers be stored, which data file.

Anyone know why I receive the message below for my Nuvi770? I have nuMaps Lifetime bought for this device yet this is what I got below. Any help please?

I know POI Loader will work with either MP3 or Wav files(if SOX is loaded)but what will happen if you put both types of sound files with the same file name in the default directory and ran the POI Loader program?

Is there a document or listing that shows the type of sound file (MP3 or WAV)that are used by the different Garmin models?

I was reading this thread http://www.poi-factory.com/node/21316 regarding the "keywords" used in files for custom POIs and I was wondering if there is a full compilation of all keywords available and what they do.

I have downloaded the RestAreasCombined(Ver.AD)POI package and the Bitmap image for it. I have renamed the bitmap image to the same name as the.csv file. Should this cause the icon to appear for the rest stop entries that were loaded for the POI package, or am I not doing this correctly??

Newbie here. Wanted to ask if anybody has experienced a distortion on the voice directions given on the 1450 model of Garmin? Is this voice the same on the 1490 ? Had a 265WT 2 years ago and sound was clear and crisp.
