I have loaded the Dunkin Donuts and Rest Area POI (including a BMP and MP3 for each) and loaded them using the Garmin POI Loader (http://brillharts.com/GarminAlerts/). The file names were changed so that the nuvi would recognize each BMP & MP3 as part of the corresponding CVS.

Hi, I'm a newbie here, planning to download Red light camera POI's on my new Nuvi 3490LMT, any feedback here?

Setting it up means i need to download POI Loader in Garmin website, buy and download "red light camera" files here then just use Garmin's POI loader right?

I have loaded custom POIs on my Nuvi 1490. I named the file "Custom POI". It appears under the Extra section. Two Questions: 1. Can I load another file using the POI Loader with a different name such as "Travel POI" and have both of the files appear in Extra as separate entries? 2.

For some time, I have used folders to categorize my custom poi's on my pc and the categories would appear on my Nuvi units. Now my 2495LMT just shows all the individual poi's alphabetically within category. I have not made any changes to the category structure on my pc and run poiloader as I have in the past.

my 350?! Did I miss something?

Another question: I have to enter the correct state first before I can search by zip code. Did I miss something again, or is Garmin totally gone nuts?

Laptop with Windows 7 cannot locate my new nuvi 3490lmt. Also it keeps telling me that there was an error downloading the maps. My older laptop with XP recognizes the device but gives me an error message when attempting to download the map updater.

Any help out there?

My nivi 750 will not read more than 90 poi's can some one help

Anyone tried to upload routes to a Kenwood nav system? (Has Garmin GPS)

I installed the Kenwood DNX-6140 nav unit in my wife's Camry. I added a USB extension cable from the unit to the glovebox. I have uploaded POI's and waypoints with no problems using poiloader and mapsource.

I am not a newbie. I have downloaded custom POIs successfully to my 750 and to my new 3490 in the past but I am having trouble now. The data gets downloaded but ALL of the individual poi's show up and NOT the categories. For example if I download Diners Drive ins and Dives, every single restaurant is in my Custom POI folder but not the category of "Diners Drive ins and Dives"

I am now terribly confused over the Nuvi 50 I just bought. Things were going fine, but honestly getting information took me most of the weekend..

I downloaded POIs and loaded them with POI Loader. None of them worked while I was driving around. Found the "manual" mode to put in proximity info and that will hopefully work.

Not sure if that ends the Lightsquared threat to the GPS frequencies or the move's consequence will be to force regulatory/political hands.

Webupdater just showed me the new update but not MyGarmin.

As you know, using myDashboard to update your GPS has always been a bit of a crap shoot because all you ever saw was that there were "Updates Available". I'm happy to see that myDashboard has been updated so that, like Webupdater you can pick and choose exactly what you what to update.

First of all, i use my gps for hiking and trekking. A gentleman on another forum has created a massive set of POI along a trail that im planning to do later this year. Here you can find his csv file. http://db.tt/qqCnA7qK

When will garmin update their maps?

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had done any research on how extensive the POIs are in the 3590 compared to some of the POIs located on this site. i.e. 3590 has restaurants and gas stations, but how about specific restaurants like crackerbarrel or Costco or Sams? Or another question might be how do I find out what the installed POIs are on the 3590? Thanks

Ok I'm using a Mac but the garmin software doesn't recognize the sd card in my 1490. I've tried figuring out how to format it but the mac sees it but in the nuvi the garmin software doesn't. I don't have room to install the whole file so i need to put Canada on the sd. Help needed?
