Identify File on Nuvi 2460LMT

Does anybody know the correct file (or files) that store all the customizations I make on the Nuvi 2460LMT.
Every time I do a hard reset I must go in there and customize again. No problem with the favorites, easy enough, I am talking about features such as the "Main Menu" and the information screen on the screens right side while driving a route.
That one enables to change arrival time, distance, direction of travel, etc.
I believe it is the GarmineDevice.xml file but not sure.
If it is the xml file, can it be overwritten from a backed up copy. I know it recreates itself since the date stamp changes on each reboot.
There may be other files where the user data is stored, such as user_strings.db in the .system\SQLite folder.
Any suggestions are appreciated since I find it a nuisance having to re-do my customized settings after a hard reset that I do with each map update.
GarminDevice.xml
as I understand it is an output file (created at bootup). It is not read by the Garmin device itself, but used only by other programs such as Webupdater. I don't think there is any way to save and restore preferences.

Well that rules GarmineDevice.xml out.
I still think there must be a file where preferences are stored since whenevr a change is made the Nuvi records it and saves it.I would imagine if you did a backup of ALL FILES, then deleted all files from the Nuvi, then copied the backed up files back all the customiztions would appear.
The Windows date stamp would be a useful tool to attempt to identify the file, but there are many files that change on a reboot

Garmin preferences.
Based on what I have read in other forums, a Garmin device has some non volitile memory that is not accessible or mappable as a mounted drive on your computer. That is probably where the preferences are stored and read at bootup.

That's
That's correct. The settings are stored in non user accessible memory. Doing a hard reset sets all of those settings back to default values or requires you to set up the values you want to use. I guess that's pretty much what a "reset" is supposed to do.
