3 hour for first failed upload.
70 min with CS. 50 minutes of "on hold". 10 minutes of actual discussion on phone. 10 minutes of yada yada yada script reader's script reading.
I restarted the process. I returned to my computer later in the day and it now works.

Lost all personal data though.

I have an extra power cord with the traffic antenna built in to it. Can I buy the 2460LM and use the traffic cable to make it a 2460LMT ... or do I actually have to buy the LMT version of the GPS in order for the traffic features to work?

Anyone know for sure? The price diff is $60 and I already have the spare cable.

I'm trying to update the 2012.40 in my 1350 to 2013.10

The updater thinks the current map is 2012.30 and it says that its up to date and asks if I want to reinstall.

How do I resynchronize it?

i have a nuvi 1410, i inserted a 16gb card. downloaded a voice from mygarmin.com onto the sd card - but i cannot find the file on the garmin. do i need to "activate" the sd card on the garmin - or it is supposed to "sync" automatically?
I presume to find a voice download i should look in voices on the garmin?
not too bright on the technical issues - all help will be appreciated

Just picked up this unit - I know of how TomTom works with adding and finding POIs but I have some questions related to Garmin.

I am also aware of issues with the firmware 6.30 and "categorization" of custom POIs - but not 100% sure if what I want is related or unrelated to this firmware.

I have reached the point of frustation saturation with the 1490T. I like the features but the model is a lemon. Anyone here familiar with both the 1490T and 2460LMT? It seems like they are very similar, but the 2460 has 8 gb of ram compared to the underwhelming 2 gb in the 1490.

I'd appreciate hearing from any users familiar with both models, before I take the plunge. Thanks.

I just tried to use my Garmin lifetime updater to update my maps. The highways are still there, but all the streets are gone!

I THOUGHT I had backed everything up, but even though I "cloned" the backup files back onto the Garmin 750 nuvi (using Laplink) the streets are still gone.

Does anyone know what can be done? Will I have to ship my Nuvi back to the factory for repair?

Someone suggested using Voice Exchange for non-TTS voice files. The exe said it had been superseded by GarTool.

Anyone know if GarTool is OK to use?

Awhile back, my favorites list started showing numeric data instead of the names I assigned them on a few of the entries. At that time, I knew nothing about GPS data or this site.

I opened a problem report with Garmin. Their solution was to do a master reset. It did not work. They were perplexed.

I deleted the entries, re-entered them, and all was well.

I use my 660 almost everyday, for traffic info, to and from work. (I know the way to work after 11 yrs there. It's 36.8 miles one-way without detours and 95% is on the Interstate) The traffic info has saved me many an hour of being stuck.

As from time to time there are questions about maps for different world regions I would like to start topic about getting them legally.

There are two links to places where you can get legal, free maps for Garmin GPS. They are routable, so can be used to drive when on vacations. Coverage can differ sometimes, as often there are non commercial projects created by users.

I own a Garmin Nuvi 765T and Garmin Nuvi 3590LMT. On the 765T my custom POIs are grouped under the categories I created (i.e. Home Depot or Walmart) so I can search for Home Depots near my location. On the 3590LMT it doesn't do that. It lists all my custom POIs together ordered by distance from POI.

Turned on my relatively new 1490T this morning to find a thin white line from left to right. It isn't too annoying, rather sad though that after over 15 years of Garmin GPSs in all kinds of terrible weather and trying conditions, this new Nuvi which has been used in the car four times now is the first one to suffer a failure.

I am still using a 2610 for my motorcycle trips as it is waterproof, shockproof (beat around on handlebar mount on dual sport rides for 80,000 miles), and runs the US TOPO 100K files. The TOPO detail is excellent. Does Garmin offer a newer version of the TOPO maps with GREATER detail? NOT 3D.

Symptoms - My device is recognized by the Garmin Web Updater Software application for doing system software upgrades. My device is also recognized by the Internet Garmin interface MyGarmin / MyMaps when connected to the Internet. However, neither the GarminMapUpdater application or the GarminLifetimeMapUpdater application will recognize my device.

I just started using my first GPS, a Nuvi 2595LMT. When I use my finger to scroll the map it puts a blue coordinates flag wherever I touch the screen and the screen jumps to that coordinate. It's very aggravating. How can I disable or at least turn off this feature while scrolling?

I've searched the forums and can't find anything on this subject.

Will there be a conflict between a built in POI and a custom POI? What will i expect if this happen, a built in POI pointing to a recently downloaded custom POI here?

when i go to open a gpx file it tries to open in adobe, then fails. whats going on ?
