Garmin nuvi 3790 lmt

Did you give it a name and then press "done"

Then Where To/ > Trip Planner > [name]

Yes gave it a name and also set a time for departure and arrival at destination but when I pressed the ( next button ) it went into calculate the trip mode and no save button came up ,so when I went back into the trip page there was nothing there ,I have used this trip planner lots of times with no problem so I think there is a malfunction again with this unit

Try a hard reset after backing faves up.

hi thanks for your response ,i have contacted garmin about the problem and they will get back to me within 3days, i have not tried a hard reset yet as there was a map update for my nuvi ,i had hoped this would fix the problem but no luck , the odd thing with this trip planner is that it will set a trip for Buffalo New York and retain that info but as i add another state to that trip it deletes the whole thing ,will let you know what Garmin says

I have a 3790LMT and just created a test trip from my home in Tucson to a hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada and named it test and hit save it calced the trip and I went back to the where to menu. Went to trip planner selected the test trip I had just created and then hit the menu bars on the left and selected edit trip and added another via point at a hotel in San Diego California and hit save and it went through the trip calc and I returned to the menu. If I go back to the where to menu and then to the trip planner and select the test trip it shows both via points and saved everything as I had input it. So it allowed me to modify the original trip and saved it correctly.

Works fine on my 3790LMT with 2013.10 maps and 4.90 firmware.

Rather than wait for a reply, and go back and forth with emails, call support and they will help you troubleshoot, I found their support to be very helpful.

The three days is for an automated reply that says they got your email. 'Helpful' emails take longer. I have NO luck with their email help. Others say phone help is very good though.

Hi after contacting Garmin by email they suggested I do the master reset which I did ,that didn't help so then they told me to get rid of the GPX files on the Garmin via the pc then reinstall the maps ,that has made things even worse now I have the trip planner making a hundred copies ( yes that's right) ) of each trip that I put in ,also did a master reset again and still no change ,they are still trying to correct the problem for me with different suggestions but it looks to me like my nuvi is done now and as usual it it just out of warrenty ,but to be fair to Garmin techs they did respond very quickly ,

Try running the Garmin WebUpdater stand alone software and when it checks for new software if it says your Garmin device already has the latest software it will give you two options. Select the 2nd one "Reinstall the same version" and reinstall the software and then check the trip planner.

Thanks but that didn't work either,tried another trip but same result hundred copies of trip but at least when I delete I copy they all get deleted together

I have/had the same problem. This is how I saved my trip...

Create your trip as per the manual. When you are on the screen that shows the "GO" and "MAP", hit the back key. That saved my planned trip for me.

This step is not clear in the manual. I just stumbled onto by playing around with the unit... I hope this helps.
