Is my GPSMAP 60 dead?

I went to download a bunch of GC's to my GPS last night and they wouldn't transfer. I tried using the cable from my car GPS and that wouldn't work either. The handhelds cable works with my car GPS so I think the cable is good. I'm really bummed as we are camping next week, my alternative is to enter the Lat/Long in manually for each cache and the prospect that I may have to replace a handlheld that I really like. The hand held is a Garmin GPSMAP 60.
The interface setting is set correctly for USB and the unit has not experienced any unusual drops, exposure, etc. Also, the USB connected icon shows on the handheld display when plugged into the computer.
Do you think I need to reload the driver on the computer and the gps files then start over?
UPDATE After a couple of
UPDATE After a couple of phone calls to Garmin, it appears there may have been a couple of problems. First they blamed EasyGPS as being sometimes finicky and incompatable due to being a third party software package(?). So I installed the Garmin BaseCamp software which is very nice by the way. I used 7Zip to unzip my pocket Query from Geocaching.com, imported it to BaseCamp and sent it to the GPSMAP 60. No problem, right?
Well, I pressed Find, Geocache, and the display said "none found" so now I was again disappointed. I called Garmin back and explained it to the support staff and he said to do a search "By Name" and they should show up, which they did!! Apparently, when you do a Find, Geocache, the unit only searches in about a 50 mile radius of the current location. When you search "By Name" it pulls everything up, so the bottom line is all is well.
Thanks to everyone for you suggestions!!
GSAK
Glad you got it working. I'd highly suggest using GSAK for loading your caches. You can try it for free.

I think the guy from Garmin is wrong. I have used EasyGPS to load a 76CSx, an 855, and some other Garmin models for friends. My friend that runs an event cache every year loads quite a few Garmin models and other brands using EasyGPS for the event caches. So far I haven't found a Garmin I couldn't load with EasyGPS. I don't know how familiar you are with EasyGPS and I'm not trying to insult your intelligence, But you do have to make sure that EasyGPS has found your GPS by going to edit then preferences, and if its not on the list click on the add GPS button.
Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.
GSAK is NOT really difficult to use
Glad you got it working. I'd highly suggest using GSAK for loading your caches. You can try it for free.
GSAK can be used in very simple ways that do NOT require a steep learning curve. You can simply set a few preferences as to how you want the caches loaded - name or GCnumber, size, difficulty, terrain, etc. These are very simple things to set. Tell it which GPS you are using. Drag your pocket query file (still zipped) into the lower window and it will automagically populate the database. Click on the button to send it to the GPS. Done.
If you decide you don't like the result look at the very simple examples provided and change things until you have it the way you like.
I've used GSAK for a long time and I don't use the advanced features because the simple stuff does everything I require.
