I’m one of those who had problems updating the map and spent several hours with Garmin’s help desk on 3 July 203 with zero progress.

Finally found the solution to my problem by using a SD 8GB card and following instructions in the two notes below after I BACKED UP my device with GarMim Express.

I'm about to buy my first gps. I know I'll get a garmin nuvi, but don't know which model. Seems from reading this forum that people don't believe the traffic is accurate. Is that true? If so, I'll spend less and get an older model with "fm traffic" instead of "HD" traffic. Thoughts? Model reccomendations? Thanks

Garmin's latest trail GPS uses the Android OS and supports downloading 3rd party apps from the Android store.

At 2.9" X 5.9" by 1.4", that is one BIG handheld device to carry on the trails!

It's an intriguing move, and we can only hope to see something like that in the mobile camp eventualy.

nuvi2555 has custom POIs that were in when I got it new like MT and FC files and that is overseas like to remove them if I can

twice now coming from Indiana to Chicagoland on 90/94 at the 394 turn toward Chicagoland, the new maps in a route to my home north of Chicagoland has prompted to go South on 394, not North.

The Map routs shows correctly north, but audio prompts says take 394 south, not north.

I know that downloaded POI's are moved to the "EXTRAS" on the NUVI 265W. Is there any way to make them searchable as part of the rest of the POI's?

Noticed today that firmware 8.00 update is available for my 2455 LMT. I loaded it, but have not found any release notes for this update yet.

I have just d/l the Red Light Camera POI. I have manualy set the distance at 2500 feet. When I check the POI it show a distance of .3 instead of .5. What did I do wrong.

I'm about to buy my first gps. Thinking of the garmin 3590. Do people who have it think that is the way to go? Also, do I have to buy the HD traffic receiver to get it?

I have a user name with Garmin and it is an almost forgotten email address. Does anyone know how to change that?

All I seem to get is to change my email address, address and password but not the log on name.

I have a nuvi 205, I also use Basecamp and have some custom waypoint symbols and would like to know if there is a way to put them on my SD card in my GPS?

After the latest update in the bar on top before viewing the map, my 3597 now displays the temp for my location next to the time. Anyone else notice this?

This comment applies to just about every Nuvi out there with a speaker that uses a magnet. It may also apply to other models and brands of GPS units.

It does not apply to the Nuvi 8xx series because the Nuvi 8xx uses flat piezo speakers (2 on the left and 2 on the right). There isn't a magnet involved.

I have a Nuvi 760 and a 2555. 760 has an external antenna jack, 2555 doesn't. What late model units have an external jack?

I am learning a little more each day about my Nuvi 50. This little gem is a hidden choice in the menu : Settings/Map/Down Arrow. There is a lot of talk about customizing your Nuvi display. Well this feature can change what you see on the screen in a big way.

on a recent visit saw a device that plugged to the obd2 reader and worked with 1490lmt to give a more accurate information about vechicle economy. tried to find it, no luck, no luck.........help where ,when, price.

I picked up 2595LMT from Costco Canada last night. I love this device compaired to my old 765 and 1490.
I am not sure what type of traffice receiver it came with. All I can read is TA20 car charger but does not say anything about traffic receiver. I can I find it?

I have a nuvi 1390 and a 1450. Along with these are connecting cables GTM 25 and GTM 26. Does it matter which one I connect to either nuvi? I do not recall what came with what. Are they interchangeable? Thanks
