Garmin talk

Does this new unit use trip planner? I like creating custom routes with Base Camp or MapSource and then uploading them. I never liked the way Trip Planner handles custom made routes so I am currently using a Nuvi 1490 since most models after that used the Trip Planner software.

For PC:
Garmin began rolling out Garmin Express v4.1.11.0 for the PC today. If you would like to upgrade to the latest version, Check for Updates to Express on the Settings page within the Express application. This version includes the following changes:
• Added automotive device-specific help.
• Fixed an issue that caused Connect IQ app settings to not be applied correctly

For Mac:

I want to install the ‘Campgrounds an RV Parks Combined’ (11-16-2015) file in BaseCamp.

So I downloaded the CSV version, I converted it to GPX format using the ‘Navman Comma Separated (*CSV)’ version of PoiEdit.exe. When I try to import it in BaseCamp, I get an error message.

I noticed that my new nüvi 2598 does not have a picture viewer. Does that mean we can no longer set a splash screen image?

Up till now, I have had very few issues with Garmin Express, but since I have upgraded to Windows 10 it has quit working. It goes through the motions, but when it gets to preparing device, it just hangs up here and will not download the new maps. Has anyone else encountered this issue, and is there going to be an upgrade to Garmin Express to work with Windows 10?

I always install map updates to both my GPS and computer. Four of the last six map updates installed on my GPS but failed to unlock in Basecamp on my Win 7- 64 desktop. All 6 updates installed perfectly in Basecamp on my Win 7-64 laptop however.

I can't really stand basecamp. I understand that google maps and mapquest won't ship planned route to any device anymore. Is there any other online free sites that can be used to plan a trip ? I've been looking around and most seem to be pay sites.

Does anyone know how to format a .csv file to properly display address, city etc in Basecamp? I have tried putting the in separate columns and separating them with a comma but no success.

Still on the fence about my next GPS system purchase.

I do have some questions for you all...

1.) the camera system. Can I get by with the 20?
Does the 30 have features that I might need over the 20?
I mean, I don't think I will want to add more into the same system.

2.) Is there any "Lag time" in the camera system?

Hello again. I've been gone awhile and had puter cleared. Now Garmin Xpress and Updater download but do not install. Hitting the exe. does nothing. What's up? My passwords or email do not work.

I have two NUVI's, an old 750 and a newer 3597. I have been using the cloning method to get the whole NA map on my 750 and it has worked flawlessly. Seems to download and install a lot faster too.

My nuvi 775T came with a GTM-21 traffic receiver.
I have always received FM TMC traffic in the Toronto, Ontario area on my 775T.
Recently it stopped to show traffic information and the little traffic icon on the map screen.
Clicking: Tools > Setting > Traffic > it shows Navteg (US, CAN) Lifetime Subscription.

Lately I have noticed that my Nuvicam and Nuvi 3597 show only exit number as next exit instead of street name. I don't know why Garmin made this change? Street name is lot easier because you know what is your exit but exit number does not give you much information.

Hello everyone. Firstly I have looked for an answer but have had no luck so I am now asking for some advice/help. Garmin wont reply so my next step is here with the experts. I have a Garmin 2797lmt with all the maps pf Europe as I am in Europe. My unit after my last update now states that my internal memory is full.

I use my nuvi on a daily basis. While traveling to my destination (already inputted address into nuvi), it locked up/froze.

It was warm to the touch and the last map image was still on the screen. Pressing the power button for several seconds did nothing.

I tried again about 15 minutes later and was able to power it down. It has behaved normally since the event (yesterday morning).

How do I load my favorites into my new nuvi? MapSource doesn't recognize it and I don't see an option to restore my favorites in Garmin Express.
