Garmin talk

I'm sure I've missed something in the docs ... Can the 200w display POI (Garmin provided and/or user provided) Icons in the 3D Map view? The only time I see icons is in the 2D view and they are so small you need a stylus to select them.

I've been looking at the http://brillharts.com/GarminAlerts/ site and would like to set up a TourGuide radius alert for one of my .gpx files, but I'm not sure if it'll work without the .mp3 file. Anyone try this?

I have a file showing POIs in a .POI format meant for copying to my Nuvi, and would like to be able to view it in Mapsource. Is there some way to do this?

I want to post 2 new red light cameras that are not in the POI's. I'm new to this site and am not sure how to add them to the list. Anybody could help??.

Can addresses that come with the gps be updated? I have a nuvi 350. Some businesses move and it would be nice to change a wrong address.

Took my 360 to the big city yesterday. It led me to try to take a left on a no left turn intersection. I've had this same thing happen with MapQuest maps.

On the way out, it led me to an overpass to leave the city. As I got up onto the overpass, it seemed to suddenly switch to trying to navigate the streets below the overpass.

Understandable, but felt weird.

Can I wire my 660 direct into 12V - without using the FM receiver built into the 12v plug that it comes with ?

Hello I am trying to find topo maps for my Garmin of Patagonia. Specifically the Torres Del Paine area. I have tried the 3rd party vendors on the Garmin site and they are unresponsive. If anyone has a source it would be much appreciated. Thanks

i recently purchased a garmin 660 na and upon entering a four digit password i wasnt paying attention and now i cannot use it because i dont remember it ...help please . i need to reset it if possible.

I installed the new version and now when I run it, I am getting a message that it cannot find "sox.exe" and will not work.

i cant find the firmware download on the garmin site for my 330 ,how do you get to it,when i hook up my unit to the computer and use the web updater it says i have the current stuff in it.

Hi I have a 650 garmin and want to put in school zones I made the poi file with the word speed and ends in cvs then I changed it to gpx. file but I can't get the voice to say school zone alert what l'm I doing wrong thank you Lucky

Need help installing a backup camera to a StreetPilot 7200 in my Volvo wagon

I have the Garmin 360 and tried loading custom POI's onto a SD card. When I put the sd card into the 360 it does not show up. When I load the same POI's straight into the 360 I can see " custom POI" under .
Before I go crazy I want to know if the 360 can use POI's from an SD card.

just got off of the phone with Garmin, i asked them if there was a way for me to get the dvd of the maps that is on my GPSR for my laptop? they said sure no problem, full install dvd city nav. nt maps for my desktop/laptop for well not free but close enough 15.93 yes $15.93 including tax and free shipping via ups!!

Hey all, I just posted some new POI files with all the public BioDiesel sights in the USA. I posted a full USA list and regional lists. Hopefully these are helpful. I am still looking to create a list of regular diesel stations as well. Thanks, kdehaan...

I've noticed that the phone numbers for custom POI's are often cut off on their information page. I'm concerned mostly with RV Parks, but it probably happens with others too. Addresses come first and are usually complete. I have the nuvi 200. Would the widescreen show complete phone numbers?
