what poi's would you like to see on here.

With all the store closures (unfortunately), is there a thread on here tracking them so we could delete the closed stores? Or is it just best to wait for the original poster to modify thier files?

...if you have changes then it would be best to contact the owners of the POI. I've had a positive experience in having owners change files.

When I was out west for a few months, I spent my off days searching the desert for ghost towns.

So I'd recommend a POI file of abandoned ruins.

That was a fun project zakany. Not all are exactely abandoned as some have been submerged under water or completly over taken by other towns.

It's a good start anyway at 1,335 POIs.

I'll upload it now, not certain how long it takes to be reviewed, approved and published.

I looked at the McDonalds website and it wants zip codes. http://www.mcdonalds.ca/en/aboutus/restaurantLocator.aspx When I looked at the zip codes for Ontario and Quebec it looked like there are over 200 zip codes. http://www.postalcodedownload.com/ONTARIO.html Can you help with the zip codes that you want.

Super-Kmarts (the ones with grocery stores in them). There is a Kmart list, but unfortunately it doesn't break out the Super-Ks (or else I would just grep it to get a Super-K list), all stores seem to just be called Kmarts.

I am brand new here so please inform me if I am 'off track'.

The Florida Highway patrol and Orange county Govt. installed sensors around Orlando airport and along major highways. According to the proposal sent to Federal DOT (for funding) these sensors can see weapons, people, etc. They are sometimes located with the traffic cameras. There was also verbage about tag readers, although I don't know what one looks like. I have a majority of the sensor locations ranging from Wildwood to Melbourne,Fl..

Hi All

I would like to see a POI of Fresh Water Springs US.

This might not be a realistic request but when we go camping, we like to frequent local springs to obtain our potable water.

It would seem there is very little info on the Net in this area. The few states covered on this site are the high water mark as best as I can tell.

I intend to start a project for the SC upstate by asking local elders where they might be.

I would welcome any info for inclusion, SC or otherwise. One or several. Please indicate if by visit or map (Google, GoogleEarth, MapQuest, etc.)

One might also consider submitting a picture of your local spring to GoogleEarth.

I've been starting to find the zips I'm most interested in - all along the Trans-Canada. I just have a quick question (or two! lol)
Do you need all 6 digits for the zip... or are just the first 3 ok? I was also wondering another thing... in a city, Ottawa, for instance, do you need ALL the zips that apply to the area? Or are one or two from the region ok?

I would like to know if anyone has a Custom POI for Firestone Car service centers.

I am not sure if this has been done already, but it would nice to have a poi file for post office locations and maybe mailbox locations with pickup times.

I'd love to have a listing for Arizona and Nevasa Ghost towns and such attractions!

I think you'll find that the Garmin comes with Post Offices POIs already (mine does). Yea, if they were done here they might be more up to date, particularly for owners of older units, but Post Offices are pretty stable.

Mail Boxes with pick up times would be great, but I think it would have to be done for particular metropolitan areas, I doubt that a national database like this could or should be done.

I second the National Forests.

I would like to see a POI of all the gun stores and shooting ranges in North Carolina with phone numbers included. Maybe even for the whole USA if possible

I didn't see any POI already. I'm talking about the non-chain bakeries/cafe's. I'm looking for bakeries that sell cakes and desserts. Nice little shops where you can sit and enjoy desserts and coffee's . It would be good to know where the local shops are in different towns, places where people would reccomend.

Mom & Pop Bakeries. I have a few local ones to contribute.

I'm a pretty advanced user and just looked at a whole bunch of instructions of how to create a POI file. Not worth the time invested for me.

BUT, if you had the time a list of all the Holiday Station Stores would be great.

I see all the store address information is contained in the HTML source file which can be viewed in your web browser. For Firefox, view/page source. One idea would be to parse this info in Excel which I've done for another POI. Many changes would be needed to my spreadsheet but I'll be glad to pass it along if you contact me via my Contact tab.

I am SUPER late with the response. But thanks for your efforts. I am very pleased to see that a SEPTA POI file is now available. I am a SEPTA employee that travels by car to many of the stations on all of the lines, often, so I am interested in all lines.

Go to the POI home page ore at the top of each page you will see a link to red light cameras there you can find poi's for them.

haw about harley dealers for all of the states? new to this so not sure what is needed for a garmin nuvi 205w?

I would like to see a POI of all bicycle shops. State by state would be fine.

Last year we biked trails in Iowa. I carry two extra tubes, and I had three flats in two days. I had no clue where to find a new tube, and neither did anyone else. By the time I found a phone number they were closed, and the next day was Sunday.

With a POI and a phone number I could have taken action sooner.

I would be interested seeing a POI file for Mastercard ATM locations, Maestro to be specific. If not, Mastercard in general (that means including Cirrus) would be an acceptable start.

I work in the construction field and we do alot of building and remodeling for f&e on the west coast but none of the current models areupdated with these stores cause they are all so new and i have to rely on my office to relay me all the addresses and thats basicalyy what i use to find is the address but to type in fresh and easy would be so great,they do have a web address @ www.freshandeasy.com if that helps.

Well, their web site is of little use if you don't know where one is or what area they serve. There isn't even a readily available contact listing. The one entry I did put in returned 5 hits - 4 of which were not opened as of yet.
