Here I thought I was brilliant and came up with this great idea all on my own!

Wisconsin designates some roads as "rustic". They're scenic, but could be paved, gravel, or unpaved. They could go along rivers or be simply interesting prairie or forest areas.

They're mostly short. At least, in my area.

I like your idea of a POI for each end of the route. That's exactly what folks would be looking for. I could give you a sample of what I've been working on. See if that works for you.

There's about a hundred of them.

All Dams (visibly along the road of course),

All Freeways points of STEEP Incline,

No the High Crime im thinking of is mostly... High Car Theft and vehicle burglary Crime locations....

[same general idea as my High Air Pollution suggestion, because I wouldnt want to set my car to outside air.]

... so High Crime because if i travel there, i sure dont want to leave my GPS in the car!!

I travel with my son but I bet others could use it. Good playgrounds, waterparks, etc. Not like the 'Six Flags' attractions already listed. But out-of-the-way fun? Maybe all free places??

I put together a CSV file with the Five Star Dealers in Illinois. I was maybe going to try to convert it into a GPX file and put the addresses and phone numbers in there, so they can be used with GPS receivers with bluetooth. If you want the CSV file, let me know.

Sure send it my way or even better just post it on this site so others can use it. That way I could just download it and add it to my file some time in the future, probably after I'm done with Canada file.

I don't like the idea of people working hard to produce files that have already been produced.

I see a lot of files being suggested here that have already been posted.

I was just about to edit my list above, to remove ones i just found in the Alphabetical list that you just mentioned, but I dont have the Edit tab anymore. Oh well.

I'd like to see a listing of commercial (privately owned) RV campsites, preferrably by state. We have excellent poi files for state parks, KOA, etc. but there are many more rv parks out there.

If you go to the POI list then either select campgrounds or go to the alphabet list and scroll down you will find all kinds of campgrounds. good sam big rig campgrounds.

How about locations that have a penny smashing machine?

would be nice to have a more detailed listing of beaches in usa with detailed locations such as which state they are in and quality of beach if possible.

Id like to see a poi where you are alerted when youre crossing a bad area, I mean places where the crime rate is really high! So I just know where not to stop!LOL

My Garmin has a special algorithm that routes me through the worst possible neighborhoods. I think I accidentally set the "closest route to crackhouse" option when I first got it

Locations of City Parks would be nice. Places where you can stop and picnic while on a long trip. I've noticed that if I search for "park" I don't get those locations from the built-in POI database.

Would love to see a Chase Bank branch only (not free standing ATM's) file.

I travel a lot on the road of Quebec and many times a try to find a branch of "Caisses Populaires Desjardins" bank (only found in Quebec and Ontario) .

They are affiliated with Interac, Plus and NYCE (Visa card also) and offer very good quality and friendly services with all the banking facilitys (ATM). They can serve you in french as well as in english. On their internet site we can found all of their branchs but not compatible with GPS POI (www.desjardins.com).

If you have time............

By the way, you should consider planning a little trip to Montreal or Quebec city (400th anniv. this summer) it's like a visit to Paris but at half the price. Though it'a a french province, mostly everywhere you can be serve in english. Worth the trip !!!

I would like to see a list of diesel fuel stations

I would like to see an updated list for Jersey Mike's sub shop as well as a more expansive listing of microbreweries in the US.

And it would compliment the BBQ POI perfectly. There are a lot of websites that list microbreweries but at least around here, they tend to go out of business a lot so those sites are always out of date. I think an approach like the BBQ POI (list the places you know personally) would be great.

Which is actually Bridgestone-Firestone, since the whole thing is owned by Bridgestone. However, the stores are under the Firestone name. I think the website is www.bridgestone.com. I don't know if there is a Firestone website too.

If you have Bridgestone or Firestone tires and have a blowout away from home, it's good to be able to get to the nearest dealer. I guess that is true of Goodyear and others too, but I own Bridgestones and don't have time to put together the file.

Any chance for Allpoint ATM locations? I find listings of VA and NY areas. I really could use Western US (CA, AZ, NV, NM, CO, UT, ect) TYVM

I don't know whether this has been suggested before, or whether it would be feasible, but I would like to see a POI with the locations of 4x4/Jeep trails.

ATV Trails would be a great addition.
