Nothing. It's an informational message to tell you that Garmin site has more free/downloadable vehicles.

yes, but i can click onliy OK. And when i click OK, i'm back in the menu "map-settings". i already tried to wait some time, but the message wasn't disappear! i can only click on OK!?

...but my problem is, that i can't change the vehicle icon! instead of the list of icons on the nüvi, the message is shown! ...hope someone can help me!!!???

which vehicle are you having a problem with?

Could there be a bad or corrupted SRF file in the GPS unit? How about removing all icons and leaving the default icons?

i can't choose anything! i copy the srf-files to the device, in the right folder. then, when i want to change the icon in the nüvi, the message appears and i'm back in the menu map-settings!? i can only exit the message with OK, ...then i'm in map-settings again.

i think no. because i tried following things: i removed the folder garmin/verhicle and maked it new. then i tried only one srf-file (the vw-bulli from GARMIN), but the the same problem!
i read in another forum and you told me now, that there is a standard file in there. what's name is this file? if i leave the folder /vehicle empty. my icon is a blue arrow!? but then, i can't find somewhere on the device a srf-file? i think there are somewhere wrong links to this path?! there's a file in the root (it's calles "device.xml" or similar)?! but in it, there are correct paths, ... i think.
but what i'm wondering is, that if i choose HELP at the nüvi, there's also a message, that there are no entries. but the help-files of all languages are in the right path on the device?!
i can't explain myself this sh***

Did you delete all of the copied files from the /vehicle folder except for the original Garmin ones? As chewbacca suggested, there might be a corrupt .srf file.

As a suggestion, pick one of the .srf files you are having difficulty with, copy it to your nuvi and report back with the results and the filename.

tom48 - there appears to be something wrong with your device. You should run webupdater and let it update any necessary files. Then try changing the default vehicles on the device. If it still doesn't work, its time to call Garmin.

i have runned webupdater. i also installed all new updates! but nothing happend! the same problem. Garmin can't help me!!! what are the default files of the folder "vehicle"???

Where did the volkswagen bulli srf file come from? I can't find it on either the German or North American Garmin site.

And I assume there is a typo in the folder name in your post? garmin/verhicle instead of garmin/vehicle

I did a Google search, and it looks like a cool VW bus!

so, now i have the folder garmin\vehicle with only the file tank.srf from the garmin-webiste in it (from the all-include-pack) -> the checksum is so okay!
The old problem. It seems, that the nüvi isn't finding the folder???!!!

For my 760, the default vehicle files are car_blue.srf, euro_blue.srf, triangle_blue.srf, truck_blue.srf.

These are also the default files for a 650 and 680. I'm not sure if they are different on other models.

no, the folder-name on the device is right. now it is the tank with the same problem...

Why are you talking about checksums? My guess is you've gotten in over your head and did something to the folders you shouldn't have.

Is there any chance you created a backup before you starting messing around with the folders? If so, you should restore the device to its original condition and see if that fixes the problem.

If you didn't create a backup, you are going to have to call Garmin and see if they can restore your device remotely.

Webupdater should download them if they are not present on the nuvi.

I agree with GadgetGuy2008 and WAASup. It's time to call Garmin. Btw, the VW Bulli you mentioned doesn't sound like a vehicle from Garmin's website. There could very well be a problem with that SRF file.

it's a problem i have thought on...
my device only used the 3d-vehicle icon, if i rename the srf-files into car_blue.srf.
So I think the configuration-file is lost or is broken?! i also found a file for mobile-garmin-XT "getmobile.ini" (not on my device). in it there is a entry MY_VEHICLE=car_blue.srf. i think on my device is such a file lost. THATS THE HOLE PROBLEM, and because of this, the menu-structure is broken.

how often do they add cars there?

it seems that they used to add cars more frequently ... before the layoffs there.

they usually add something "holiday" related on, or close to, the diffenent holidays ... these last 2 were, obviously, for father's day. They've done the "12 days of christmas" the last couple of years - adding a new vehicle each of the 12 days leading up to XMas day

Must be a very popular site. I have yet to get it to load.

there are a lot of files to load ... if you don't have broadband internet access you can probably forget it! if you have broadband, you shouldn't have any problems - I never have.

BTW ... Tony posted 9 new ones this past Tues.

Thanks for these links. The batmobile tumbler and tie fighter are awesome. Is there any way to make the vehicles bigger? Some are cool but look too small on the screen
