List of Custom Vehicles

As a request by someone to make it easier to find this list on a front page, I couldn't think of anyway to do it except create a new thread. Below is a list of links to Custom Vehicle Icons for your GPS compatible unit. Please link to the original thread for any discussions and how to's:
http://www.poi-factory.com/node/9738

A jpg file of most of the vehicles is listed here:

New Garmin...eh vehicle?

Garmin has posted a new four leaf clover called "Lucky" at the Garmin Garage. I'm not sure I feel lucky or that this should be in a garage or maybe a salad, but here it is anyway:

I always wanted the Tumbler in batman. This is about as close as I'll get to having one!

New vehicle on Garmin Garage site

Garmin has posted a new vehicle. It is a canoe. It has a cooler in the middle and a couple of oars.
For those outdoors types, it should make you pretty happy. It is called float trip and here it is...

Happy canoeing!

Aarrgghh???

Has anyone heard anything from Aarrgghh lately? This is one talented individual. His creations are the best I've seen, much better and detailed than Garmin's. His Mach 5 lured me here and I've been stuck ever since. I understand that these vehicles are time eaters, just wanted to say thanks to him, and wondering if he's still around on this site.

Thanks Aarrgghh for making me happy to use my GPSr again.

New Vehicle at Garmin Garage

Garmin has posted another vehicle at the Garage. For those of you who went to and liked the movie Marley and Me, this is the new addition to the Garmin offering.

It is the car (like) used in the movie with none other than good ole Marley sticking his/her head out the window.

You can find it here: http://www8.garmin.com/vehicles/

Enjoy

excellent!

Love the new custom vehicles.

I brought a BMW Nuvi 360 from someone used and it has never been used...was still in the original packing.

I like the Corvette ZO6 one...rented one back in fall '08 for a few days, fun car wink

More custom vehicles!

Do you like custom vehicles for garmin nuvi? I’ve made lots of them, so many I create a custom site to share them with everybody:

www.vehiclesforgarminnuvi.com

This is totally amateur work so I’ll appreciate your feedback if it doesn’t work for you, as far as I know you should go ok with IE, FireFox, Chrome and Safari on Windows, Opera doesn’t work and I didn’t have a chance to try it on Mac or Linux.

Enjoy!

Please don't be offended by this, but I'm leery of new members posting links to sites.

If you truly have created vehicles for your Garmin then I would assume that you are a member on some other GPS forums. Could you provide your user name for those other sites so that I can see your prior history.

I'm just worried about downloading stuff from strange sites. (And yes, I have a couple of virus/spyware programs. But you can never be too careful.)

Fear enough, these days

Fear enough, these days everything looks suspicious…

As long as you know some Spanish register to www.proyectomapear.com.ar and you’ll find me Amigo!

Well...I bit

It would seem that I have not become infected from visiting the garmin vehicle site listed above with firefox, but use at your own risk. He does seem to have some nice vehicles there though.

Kudos vehiclesforgarm...

BTW, I would really like to see a Ford F150 pickup extended cab in blue, model year 2005.

Nice work! Are you using 3DS

Nice work! Are you using 3DS Max for the modeling?

Those are some awesome vehicles. Love the General Lee! I'm driving to Memphis this weekend so the General Lee will be great for my drive through the south smile

Sketchup!

raptrflite wrote:

Mike

Nop, Google Sketchup, and to say that is 3D modeling is too much. I only make little adjustments for the models to look good on a nuvi.

The thing I improved is the workflow, from a ready 3D model to .srf 15 min! nothing fancy just good tools.

And the page is safe! try downloading one .srf is just an image anyway there's no way it can harm you. I even mastered the alpha transparency issue, they look as good as you see them on the page.

.

Great work Tony. Thank you.

Nice!!

Cool Vehicles

What a great post. I'm glad I stumbled upon it. I knew about the Garmin Garage but didn't know people were making their own. I wanted a Vette and now I have one, plus lots of other cools stuff. Thanks.

Thanks for all of the great

Thanks for all of the great links. I think my favorite is the BumbleBee "Concept Camaro" from VehiclesForGarmannuvi.com under more movies. Of course, all of the Jeeps are great too...

9 new vehicles!

Tony has posted 9 new vehicles on his site!

Tony posted more ...

Tony posted 10 more vehicles. Some off-road and some racing.

srf viewer?

Anyone know of a tool that could allow to preview the srf files on the PC?

I went a bit crazy and grabbed every custom vehicle I could find, and now I have over 350 of them...

A viewer sure would be helpful to find duplicates, etc.

Simon

Very nice job

Tony,
your vehicles are real nice.
Thanks.

RaptorBase

raptrflite posted on this other thread http://www.poi-factory.com/node/9738?page=5 a link to his web site http://sites.google.com/site/raptorbase/ where he has posted 14 custom vehicles including:

  • BTTF Delorean,
  • Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine
  • Flintstone car
  • Snowspeeder

to name a few.

I thought it should be mentionned here.

Simon

Thanks Tremblsi

That for the link. I have thought the Flintstone's car and the Mystery Machine would be great vehicles. The Oscar Myer Weinnermobile would be cool too. Thanks again for the link.

Honda Odyssey

I would be appreciative if someone could do a Honda Odyssey.

thanks for the info

thanks for the info

Thank you

Great list.....kudos

For those requesting new vehicles....

I'm not really making any more right now, but if you can find us the 3D models so that we don't have to spend the (sometimes) hours looking for them, then requests are a much better possibility smile

I'm sure I'll get bored and come out of 3D retirment soon, but it looks like it's covered at the moment wink

a master index would be helpful...

Tony, thanks again for providing these great vehicles. If it's not a problem, it would be useful if you could include a master index with a vehicle description to help direct the user to a particular category...maybe something with a table of bmp images of all the cars and their location?

Thank you!
