It is the time!
They were sold at a loptop price (350 $450-$550; 360 $550-650).
Since the "generic" GPS (such as MIO C310X) have been sold for under $200. The pressure is building up. Recently, Costco started selling 350 for $350, Amerzon is following. Last time I checked, a 360 is for ~$460. Another $50 drop will make these units more reasonablly priced.
I just bought a brand new (factory fresh) Nuvi 670 for $785 (no tax/no shipping). That's at least $100 lower than anybody else.
I saw that the Nuvi 660 is down to $666. As new models come out and are more widely available, all of the prices will tank.
I guess I won't get too much for my SP 2720 and the GTM10 traffic receiver.

the drop in tech toy prices
...the drop in tech toy prices
Tech toy prices only drop AFTER my latest purchase.
Amen to that.
(and after the return period runs out)
Check out the prices for Nuvi's at Walmart.com.
They have had some of the cheapest prices at times and run specials if you are in the email tree.
Just bought Nuvi 360 at frys.com for 399.
buy at costco wholesale , you will have a year to return.
I just bought a Nuvi 680 2 weeks ago for 999.00 not sure if the price will drop any time soon.......Dave
nüvi 200 preloaded street maps, European regional coverage or continental U.S., Hawaii and Puerto Rico
nüvi 250 preloaded street maps, full coverage
nüvi 270 preloaded street maps, full coverage for U.S. and Europe
Yep me too. Any word when others besides Best Buy will be able to sell it. When that happens we'll see the prices drop.
I like the 680 but I'm not convinced its better than the 660 which is quite a bit less. I am a bit disappointed in the traffic coverage. Even though there is good coverage in my area I frequently find myself in traffic jams that my unit knew nothing about...
I believe that a lot of Nuvi newbies here, including me, are a direct result of this price drop.
For me it made getting a Nuvi impossible to resist.
I just bought the Nuvi 350 from Frys.com for $349.99 shipped no tax in NY.
Now I saw that the Nuvi 360 is going for $399.99. I'm tempted to return the 350 and get this one. $50 more for the bluetooth function might be worth it for me.
680's are still $999 at Best Buy. Other locations don't have them yet.
About 8 weeks ago I picked up a factory refurb NUVI 350 with one year factory warranty for $390 on ebay. I called Garmin with a 3 different questions on different occasions and they were VERY helpful.
It's same situation of me..
I did like this.
"return the 350 and get this one(Nuvi 360)"
but Nuvi 350 is $389.99 now.
I have seen sites advertising that they will be shipping the Nuvi 680 as early as tomorrow, 4/10. So, I am guessing the Best Buy embargo will be ending VERY soon and with that, let the price wars begin.
I saw it as cheap as $779 at offroute.com.
Fry's Electronics 699.00 of course by tomorrow probably way less. Not impressed with factory POI's that's how I found this community. Commercial driver Oregon, Washington, California. I need more: food,Scales, Home Depot, and GOLF COURSES...
Figures the new models are coming out now that I just bought a 350. Hopefully the only improvements will be the bells and whistles, and no major GPS functionality changes.
i just got my nuvi 350 for $359, shipping and tax included... decent price.
I am constantly watching costco.com for the nuvi 350 and have not been able to see it. Where can you get the Garmin 350 for $350.00? It is not shown at costco.com. (in the usa).
I bought my nuvi 660 for $720 at Best Buy in February by showing them a price from WalMart online. They reduced the price from $989 (I think at that time) down to meet the WalMart price. Just had to show them the add and show that it was in stock (which it did on the add)
Keep falling with the rise of gas prices at least one can find their way around without driving all those extra miles. mmmmm maybe a good gas saving tool after all.
that the price of Nuvi350 can get you 150 Gal of gas, which can take you looooong detour. But who cares? It is just fun to have the Nuvi.
you can get here frys.com but they raise price now, currently for nuvi 350 is $389 and nuvi 360 is $399..
Nuvi 350 -> $389.99
Nuvi 360 -> $469.99
and "Call for Availability"
I guess the price drop made me a GPS newbie!! Over $400 for the Nuvi 350 and I would not have bought one.
Just got one off EBAY for 820. Quite a few on there for around that price.
Just remember, tech always goes down. I believe I got mine for a less then what others got it for. But that is cause I got it much later then they did. If you wait for another 3 yrs, you might be able to find one for $100..lol.
Ford Motor Company has the Nuvi 680 for $899 and it comes with a 3 year warranty from Garmin for those interested.
I got my nuvi 360 from Frys at $399.
Just checked Ford site and the Nuvi 680 is down to 822!
Bought my nuvi 660 in November '06 for $740 which included shipping, now I have seen it online anywhere between $620-$666. Still happy with it though.
Just got my Nuvi 680, factory sealed from ErwinComp.com. Ordered on Saturday, shipped on Monday, I had it Tuesday. $764 including shipping, no tax.
What a great piece of equipment. This is my first automotive GPS, now I just have to learn how to use all of the features. More to come as I get familiar with the unit.
So far though, I have found the touch screen to be a bit sensitive. If I push a virtual button, it will sometimes put a "U" in the spot. Any ideas?
I got my nuvi 360 for 418 from abesofmaine.com with free shipping and no sales tax!
But high, sell low!!!!!
I just got my garmin Nuvi 350. I found out that Circuit City will MATCH ANY internet prices. I got mine for 299 dollars. Cant beat that!!!
I got the 350 at Fry's Electronics for $350. Not bad.
A friend of mine got me a Nuvi 360 brand new in the box, V8 maps, for $300 (his cost..he's a Garmin dealer). His cost 2 weeks ago was $375.+-
Yo, Bobby4795, remember to not stick your "but" too high, cause someone might fly by and clip part of it off:)) Ok, I'll go back to my room now,(said in his best Rodney Dangerfield voice, while adjusting his collar.)
I just bought nuvi from a Ford Dealer for 780.00 delivered plus a 3 year warrantee and the savers guide. So check out a Ford Dealer for one.Frank
Just bought nuvi 360 for $405(no tax +free shipping) from BuyDig.com on Sat 5/12/07. Today the price went up to $418 on their site. Does that mean too many people are buying nuvi 360 ?
What advantages does the blue tooth give you? 350 vs. 360 Thanks
Means you can use the 360 as a hands-free device with bluetooth capable phones; and, if your phone is capable, you can access the contact list on your phone, as well as call business from the preloaded pois, or your custom a poi file if you made it as a gpx file with the phone number properly coded.
When the 660 gets below $500 I am going to buy it
I have the SP 2720. It's been a great unit and I don't plan on upgrading any time soon. It does everything I want it to do and more.
What's the point on upgrading the GPS everytime a new model comes out. Just wondering
P.S. I bought my SP 2720 last year for $720 dollars Mail order with a 4 year extended warranty.
that'll be a while
Just bought my nuvi 660 for $600 from ebay no tax free shipping
How did you get Circuit City to match internet prices? It states on their website at http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/lookLearn.do?cat=-13318&edOid... by looking at the second to last question that they do not match internet prices.
Ordered a factory fresh nuvi 660 for $637 from buydig.com and a week later it was $624. Can't complain though. It is a great GPS.
