Had this problem for a while. I let it go as maybe some of the files were actually off and it would be fixed later.
And no.. I prefer using a download tool to help it go along and restart it. I do not experience this problem anywhere else. Yes I check for updates and using the add on like forever.
When I download POI files, it gets a size mismatch and marks it as a failure. It is not all files but like the McDonalds and the Rest Area one.
Any one else? Thanks.
If someone can do a plain save then I know its the tool specific to interacting with this site or my machine is the problem. Would appreciate a direction in my troubleshoot.
Now if I can also figure out why when I have the SD card in it takes my GPS forever to remap. Its the second Garmin I have that had this same problem. And its a different Garmin and a different SD card.
Give us more details on your "remap" problem, please.

I do not have any problems downloading those files directly while using IE 8.
I also download them with no problem using this batch utility: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/26847
I have had the same problem. Maybe it's Firefox. When I shift to MS Explorer everything is fine.
I use firefox and have no problems downloading any of my files. They are individual downloads and not batch.
Thanks to everyone that responded about the downloads working ok. So now I know it has to do something with my Firefox/my desktop/the add-on Downthemall. One or two files mismatch size grew to like 15 then back down to 5 over the months. So now I know where to troubleshoot.
As to my remap problem: My Garmin is updated. I blew out the data. I save only to the SD card not onto the GPS for POIs.
Once driving, the screen updates like molasses. I am through the turn before it makes the turn. I am over and past the exit before the car icon even Once I pop out the SD card, it works like normal.
This is a bit odd, but seems to have popped up over the last month or two it seems.
I use FireFox and tried the two files mentioned without a problem. What I did was a bit different in that I dl'ed them directly into Excel so I could match the line count & look at the data. Both dl'ed fine for me, but ..
Beginning about a month ago I got a message that my American Legion file was bad, and sure enough when I dl'ed it the last few lines were truncated. I re-uploaded it several times and got the same result so I just emailed the file directly to the person I got the message from, and emailed Miss POI and Jon but never heard back.
I just checked the file again & it's still truncated.
Not sure what's going on. Maybe I'll try re-uploading with IE.
edit- Nope, no joy. re-uploaded file drops about 96 entries.
Btw, only the csv file has issues. The gpx version is fine.
Miss POI?? Jon???
Does your SD card have a supplementary map on it? If it doesn't have a map on it, remove the SD card, because the 2x5 units hate having a SD card in the slot doing nothing. In the case of my roommate's 255W, leaving the SD card in the unit results in a unit that will not boot until the card is removed. The 2x0 units didn't have this issue.
My problem with mismatch files was with the files for Garmin. CSV one. It is odd that after a while I can download them so now I'm wondering if it was an ongoing problem that was slowly corrected.
285 and a 265. Both experienced the same problems and each had its own SD card. No additional maps. But I'm using the SD cards as storage to keep it off memory of the units themselves. They USE to work fine then after a while it stopped and started the molasses redraws. The 265 started acting up so gave it away and bought a the 285. Ran it a while and then it started too. Was doing the updates all the time.
