do you ever learn something new, where you didn't know it for decades?

Example, with the coronavirus panic, my wife bought some stuff at Costco last week.

Since it was all food, prepared food, and one other item, toilet paper, I said hmmmmmm......I see that there's a big "A" next to the prepared food, other than that, no sales tax. And this is PA.

There is no sales tax on toilet paper in Pennsylvania. I did not know that and have lived here since 1999.

Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – March 2020

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

is there a strategy / parking authority

I have always heard of this concept of "chalking" tires. Never actually saw it, sounds primitive. I mean we have zebra scanners with OCR and smartphones, etc.

But I saw a vehicle yesterday in W Phila with very clear marks on the front tire--one at 5 o'clock, one at 7, and one at 10. Does getting one at 2 somehow mean tow?

The street is not metered, maybe there is a time limit.

Subaru Owners - Software Update Available

I received an email that there is a Subaru software update available. This appears to be a spurious email message, as my car says that the maps are up-to-date.

If you don't already have your Subaru map updater installed, this is the starting point: http://www.subarumapupdates.com/index-en-gb.html. You will be subsequently asked to install the Subaru map updater.

Good-Luck!!!

Spot the station.

Spot the station.

Anyone else go out and watch the space station whiz by? Wifey and I do, not sure what the fascination is but we catch it whenever it's clear enough to see.

You can sign up for email alerts to be notified when it'll be crossing your area.

RLC and funerals

While at work the other day I noticed interesting thing as a funeral procession was going down the road.

Each car in the procession had a large bright orange "FUNERAL" sign covering the license plate.

I'm guessing doing that has something to do with processions that end up going through a RLC controlled intersection.

Anyone else see something like that?

Daisy Chaining Device To USB Ports For Power

I am a licensed amateur radio operator in the United States. In my pickup, I use a portable amateur radio to connect to a Rugged Spot digital hotspot. The digital hotspot gets a cellular connection from a cellular hotspot in my vehicle. Right now I run separate power cables to each device. I have noticed that the Rugged Spot has four USB ports and the cellular hotspot has one USB port.

This week we're recognizing Ralphy1!

The North American Breweries file is another of our busy ones.
I don't know about the rest of the country but in the Pacific Northwest it seems like you can't walk a block nowadays without tripping over a brewery!

Thanks for all the work you do in maintaining this file, Ralphy1!
