Thanks for the update information.

.

MS has botched Win10 updates so badly this year that I keep using the delay option to push updates off as long as possible. This seems only to delay non-essential updates.

Patch Tuesday

That is the typical patch Tuesday that happens on the second Tuesday of the month.

Update

I've my system set to delay updates for at least 3 weeks.
I have to spend time after each update to eradicate a few automatic updates such as "Microsoft Edge" which gets re-installed every time. There are a few other MS automatic downloads such as Spotify which I eradicate but get re-installed every time, UGHHHH!

I'm only glad that MS doesn't insist on me using the "Tablet" format or the "Start" they use. I like the Windows 8 start and this Classic Shell program will make your computer look like that:

I do updates on mine

I do updates on mine manually only. This is on pro... There's probably a reg edit that does something similar on home.

Group policy editor.
Local computer policy, computer configuration, administrative templates, windows components, windows update, configure automatic updates.

Set this to disabled.

Apparently Major Geeks has a solution to fix this on Windows 10 Home:

https://www.majorgeeks.com/content/page/enable_group_policy_...

This is a direct link for the download link:

Here is a Youtube video to guide you through this:

I just downloaded a batch file from Major Geeks and I now have the Policy Editor in Windows 10 Home.
Very simple to do. Download, unzip and then click on the batch file as "ADMINISTRATOR" and wait for the program to finish.

It was just an Update

It was just an Update Tuesday thing. It should not take a long time. The next major update will change the version to 2010 MAYBE. The last one was late and should have been 2003 not 2004.
