60th anniversary of the assassination of John Kennedy

Today is the 60th anniversary of the assassination of John Kennedy. I went to one of the Federal academies and would to share a moving tribute from that day written by a fellow alumnus. I was one of about 750 cadets who stood at attention for a 50 gun salute. The New York Times reports it was in the mid-50° for the day but it was a 14 mph wind during the tribute.

here's a question for you about cars

This may not be a popular topic here, but out of curiousity:

Do you feel that having hydraulic struts, to hold a hood open, is desirable, and a sign of quality?

My dad said the above. And, it's truly interesting how many values are conveyed by parents, as if we're playing out the Progressive, "turning in to your parents" commercial!

tinnitus

Anyone have it?

I can't remember a time when I didn't have tinnitus, between riding motorcycles, driving trucks and loud music, it's always been there.

Mine is almost identical to this "8kHz triangle wave". I've had it so long it doesn't bother me in a mental type way, just makes it hard for me to hear some things.

Do you have a favorite restaurant?

Do you have a favorite restaurant?

One where you are a repeat customer, and where you are treated like Norm in Cheers?!

Restaurants have had it tough since 2020.

It absolutely blows my mind when we come across those in 2023, where the prices feel like 2009, and the portions are huge and quality and service are great. I always think, what is going on??!!
