Memorial Day

Let’s not forget all of our service members who gave their lives for this great country that we live in. Today, I remember Richard Schweir, US Marine Corps. Rick didn’t lose his life in Vietnam but because of it. He committed suicide in 1991. Carl B. Rudd, Jr., US Army. Made it through Vietnam but committed suicide in 2006. Jerry Day Leak, US Army. A school classmate of mine who was killed two months after arriving in Vietnam and Ronald Coates, US Marine Corps. He was killed approximately 9 months after arriving in Vietnam. Four guys (and names) that I will never forget. All gave some, some gave all. These are the ones that we should be remembering today. Freedom isn’t free. Let’s remember that today.
