Snow Tires

This is a topic sure to get zero responses.

I put 8 snow tires on 2 cars last week. What a PITA and I even missed the 2nd half of the Eagles doing this at 23F.

But the way roads are so poorly cleared here in the Phila area, my effort paid off driving to work yesterday.

Free Music Streaming

Today while waiting for my wife while I remained in the car the only local classical music station and the only local jazz station bored me. Both of them generally maintain my interest but aren't special. When they "fail" me my usual goto has been streaming BBC-3 for classical music. Since last summer they ceased covering North America (or maybe just the USA?).

Do You Ever Use Two Or More Devices At A Time For Navigation? (If So, Why And When?)

Bdhsfz6 reminded me of something my wife and I did a number of years ago when we brought our oldest son from Minnesota to Swannanoa, North Carolina for college. I had a Garmin GPS with me, but we also used Google Maps on a smartphone. I probably drove a bit more than my wife did, but we did take turns driving. I asked her to compare routes when we started and from time to time during the trip.

old cars

I still think it's good to drive cars 20-25 years, but it can be frustrating.

2024-2025 seems to be the tipping point where our cars began to fail state inspections.

2006 Lexus, 2007 BMW, 2011 Buick.

12/24 was the first time ever for the BMW. Still need to put the new battery in and program it.

Recommendation for a HP laptop

I am in need of a new laptop. Looking for a 15in Hp with a cd/DVD read writer and not bottom of the line. Don't need the very best as I and am not interested in using it for gaming. Does anyone have some suggestions?
Thanks

Interesting discussion about GPS devices

Quoting “ If your vehicle doesn’t have built-in satellite GPS, these devices are much better than a smartphone for navigation.”

Includes some reviews. All Garmin units! Full content at https://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/g44536350/best-c...

Tablets

How many here use a tablet?

Four years ago I got my first tablet, an amazon firehd 10 (11th gen). It was dirt cheap at ~$100 at qvc or overstock. I wasn't sure if I had a use for one and didn't want to spend too much money.

The firmware device came with also permitted google services to be installed, so playstore apps was a possibility.
