Quake shifted Japan; towns now flood at high tide

I wanted to be funny or sarcastic but on second thought the situation over there is to tragic to make fun of this soon after the event and the problems of radiation the Japanese face.

Suggestion on Trail / Off Road GPS

We are considering a GPS for use in hiking and off road use. Does anyone have a suggestion on products they have used? It would be nice to have a good model with primary features without having to pay a premium price. Thank you in advance for your information.

red light cameras

Just a general question on red light cameras, why would you get a warning signal on the GPS going North or South, but not going East through the same intersection? This is the POI Factory file.
Thanks (This is a very good web site for information)

Happy Mother's Day !

Happy Mother's Day to all the POI-Factory mothers.....hope your day is a great one ! grin

Spy cam on rental laptop

I saw on the news that Aaron Rents was being sued for snapping unauthorized pics on rental laptops. PC mag picked up on the story.

Motorcycle touring (alternate roads)

Being a "biker" for 51 yrs., I have traveled the US, Canada and northern Mexico. BUT, I am still looking for a GPS program that will let me load pt. A to pt. B with the min. of freeway travel. I hate having to look at a map all the time. Backroad travel is the only way to really see the country, regardless of the extra miles.

My Favorite Files

the site identifies "My Favorite Files". This is a great option.

Is there a way to down load all items that have been flagged as updated?

Other than have to locate each and the do the download?

Thanks,

Totally weird (melting street)

Open Google Earth.

Enter: 33.97513, -118.23457

Zoom in and notice that the street seems to be "melting" into a trench. Keep zooming in until you drop into "Street View", into the trench.

If you move forward, the view jumps up and down as it crosses the pipes (or pillers).

Bing maps does not do this. it shows it as Railroad or commuter train tracks.

New VW's TDI requires UL Sulfur Diesel any readily available and where?

I recently purchased a VW with Turbo Diesel engine. Finding ultra low sulfur diesel is a challange. Any other road warriors out there that know what stations sell the ULSD?

England has them playing dead and we have them playing Drunk

In Google maps enter:

200a N Highland Ave, Baltimore MD 21224

Drop down to Street View and face West.

Zoom in towards the Red & White Trash can

The reason I say "Drunk" is because it's right outside "Discount Liquors". Move a little to the North and you can read the sign on the store.

OBL is dead

It's a shame we don't have him alive to water board and play other games with him.

How many? (GPS receivers in your car)

On a regular basis, how many GPS receivers do you have running at the same time in your car?

I decided not to let my 200W go to waste as a backup, so I set it up to the right of my 1300LM and at the same time proved myself to be a true technogeek. :D
