I just got off the phone with Garmin and their tech support is a joke. I was trying to find out which model series or even a list of individual models Gives you the name of the street or road that you are approaching when you aren't navigating. I told him my older Street Pilots did it and the next GPS I buy I would like to have that feature back.

can some one tell me how u download the routes or places u have been with your gps on a garmin nuvi 205 i have done it once and forgot how and cant find any topics on it plz help

I'm sure this has been asked millions of times but I'm new to POI-Factory and GPS units. I apologize.

When I connected the USB cable to my brand new 3597 I did see:

you will probably see, as I can with mine, a graphic of a GPS connected by cable to a PC

But now the unit either starts up with a black screen ot the main menu (Where to? View Map).

I copied the Garmin topo files from the computer to an 8gig micro SD in the Nuvi. Any idea how to access and use those topo files for my offroading?

On an older Garmin can you remove the older map files in the GPS if the newer map is installed on a SD card.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 650 and I want to know if it will accept POI Camera database. I realize I have limited memory so I just purchased a 4GB SDHC card.

I have Nuvi 2555LMT when I try to transfer from my nuvi to google earth or garmin map source they do not see my gps. I check on my hard drives and it shows up can send locations and all this is only trouble having. Am I not holding my mouth right or what sure would like some help thank you

Is there any way to download my custom POIs from my nuvi 855? Turns out that I can't find my original files. (Stored them on an external drive that won't work!)

If I could find the files on the gps, then I could probably find a convertor from gpi to gpx and use EPE

Hello, I am trying to upload a few POI's with their BMP icons. I have dome this before and have had no trouble however, for some reason, the .bmp files are not uploading.

I am using POI Loader 2.2.2 for Mac. I have a Garmin nuvi 3590LM.

I made sure the POI file and the icon were name exactly the same. Both downloaded from POI Factory. Example: mobil.bmp and mobil.csv

After 2 years I think, here's an update to Extra_POI_Editor (EPE).

Changes from v5.32 to beta v5.35
•Fixed the Geocoding and Batch Geocoding functions
•Reduced the maximum POI loaded in EPE to 500,000 instead of 1,000,000.
•Fixed a runtime error when hitting the Grab button before the map is drawn in the POI Edit window.

Hi Guys,

I love my Nuvi 2460 but!!!

I like to have my ecoRoute HD on to show me the fuel consumption on every trip.

This means every time I start a new journey I have to agree to Garmin's terms then go through 2 (or is it 3) menus, to get my fuel consumption on display.

Is there any way I can set it to come on automatically.

I would love to hear if it can be done.

Garmin Express hangs and causes problems when updating maps.It installs automatically to replace Garmin Updater. I called support after 6 hours and after disconnecting usb and reconnecting Express worked. Can't Garmin get it right?

I have noticed that whenever accident is reported by traffic update on my Nuvi 3597, it will stay for days. Only way to get rid of this accident icon is reboot of the device. Standby mode does not clear it. I use Smartphone Live traffic. Any one else notice the same issei on 3597?

Has anyone created a 'silent voice' file for the Garmin? That is, if this 'silent voice' is selected, then the Garmin does not give instructions (drive 1/2 mile) or speak street names but tones and alerts are still audible. Selecting mute or turning down the volume silences both the voice and tone alerts.

I did find a thread for this topic on another forum, but no solution was ever posted.

I recently purchased a Nuvi 50LM. It was a reasonable price and my wife loves some of the improved features from our old Nuvi.

I went to delete the Trip Log and cannot find out how. It seems completely absurd that there is not a way to do it. After all, once you start stacking multiple trips, all are pretty useless, as you cannot identify the new one.

Hope they didn't screw anything up. I've downloaded and installed ... yet I renamed my old poi loader so it wouldn't be overwritten.

I ricently took a trip from Ohio to Long Island NY I used both GPS on the trip the Garmin C550 and the Garmin 1450, both Garmin told me it would take me 8 hours to get there, mileage 423, before I start the trip I reset the mileage counter on my car to zero.
