Garmin talk

I was trying to updated mapsource and poi loader. downloaded the updates. did the web update for installing then got a window asking to click next but it never shows up. i have to use task manager to delete window. it responds that the program is not responding. i am installing these as the administrator. Any suggestions ?

I'm having issues trying to install extra maps, like topos on my nuvi 3760t.
I download the map, double click it, it installs in the mapinstall program, and I install it on my nuvi.
then when i restart my nuvi, i get a "can't unlock map" error. and the maps are not visible in the list of maps.

My garmin 2360LMT which I preodered in October shipped Friday, 21 Jan 2011 so reviews should start coming out soon.

While it was delayed twice, they did meet their revised deadline sent out Dec 21 of "late Jan"

what am i doing wrong?
it is only 3.97MB

also-- before this it asks if i should clear out existing files.. does that mean clear out old POI's? it wont delete the vehicles would it? i just chose the other option and i think its redownloading some stuff.. i hope it replaces them instead of having two of the same files in there.

I was just wondering if anyone has ran into their Garmin 1490LMT stuttering while giving directions? It doesn't happen all the time but I've notice it happening more and more frequently lately.

How can you notify Garmin to update their maps about a MAJOR traffic closure?

We have a bridge in Knoxville, TN on a major route that will be close at least to June 2013. Garmin routing still tries to take you across the bridge.

A few years ago we had a big portion of the interstate closed for almost 2 years. Garmin never provided an update to get around the closed area.

I just purchased at 1490LMT and got it all updated and whatnot, and so far everything is pretty dope! Only thing is, the voices are bugging the fire out of me. I need something more realistic and less...fake? I had been borrowing my roommates Tomtom, and there was quiet a large bank to chose voices from, and there were pretty good. The 1490 has three I believe.

Another thread has detailed some problems with POILoader 2.6.0 NOT being able to load POI files which POILoader 2.5.4 accepted.

I want to suggest a strategy for downloading Garmin software that might reduce the stress that seems apparent in many of the users of the new version.

Ok my question is I have a nuvi 760 and would like to have the topo maps of Az on the sd card.. Ok so does the map show only when the card is in or will it lay it over the city map or install it in the unit.. Garmin has them for $99 or so depending on how many states. I am just getting into off roading and it would be nice to see the trails I am on. thanks for any input you all may have.

I use an aircard for my internet access and have a monthly 5 GB data limit. I need to update my map file and it say's the update will run about 3 hours. Does anyone know how large the file is?

A few days ago i read on here how to do the splash screen, went through the steps and everything worked great for a day. I was up loading some new poi,s with the updated poi loader yesterday and now for some reason i have no splash screen. I dont even get the original garmin one to come up, i just have a black screen till the warning message comes on.

I know there is a forum on this subject but I'm not sure how much attention it gets. But was just wanting someone to test out a vehicle I made. Well it's not a vehicle It's Garfield the cat. Yeah I'm a die hard Garfield fan lol.

Ok just bought the 1350 and went to put in wav sounds and the p0 loader would not reconize the file. So my question is does the 1350 have the ability to do wav and if so what do I do Thanks.

I used my nuvi 760 on two trips this week and both times it took a long time to switch between the "Favorites" screen and the "Go" screen after I selected a destination. I was using a traffic antenna power cord in Pittsburgh I don't normally use so I thought that might be an issue. But today the nuvi was in it's normal location in my SUV with the non-traffic cord.

Is there any way to get rid of the start up warning message (Do not attempt to enter route info while you are moving .....) Its not a big deal but just kinda of annoying.

Since updates are now automatic on my.garmin.com I don't see a text file or posting of what changes are made with each new version. I know this is always done but can't seem to track down where they are now posted. Can someone point me in the right direction for the Nuvi680? Not critical, just always curious about what is being changed.

On several ocassions, I have had favorites that I have deleted show back up in the list.

Also, I connected the unit to my.garmin.com to check for map/software updates and everything was current, but after I turned the GPS on the next day, many options had been reset and additional favorites had been added - without my approval.

Things like Garmin corporate locations, etc.

With about two weeks worth of use on my new Garmin 1490LMT I already have a few feature suggestions.
