Garmin talk

I just downloaded the csv for pilot truck stops to put in my 2720. It keeps saying it is invalid file. I did some looking around and the other poi answers I found relate to gpi files and say to put it into the gps via windows explorer. This is not the case with the 2720 it does not show up in the explorer. Can some one look at the csv and find whats wrong? Thanks Dan.

My 2460LMT seems to have become confused.

When reaching some destinations the NUVI is telling me the arrival point is on the left when it is actually on the right and visa versa. The same destination point was OK in the past. I am not sure what has happened. Anyone have same experience or any thoughts on how to correct?

Has anyone noticed that sometimes the NUVI 3490 doesn't shutdown or sleep when the car power is turned off?

Mine usually turn off but a few times I've returned to a dead NUVI battery.

Here in Albuquerque, Lane Assist appeared very little save on the Interstate intersections until the three most recent map updates. Now they are very common, even including the 25 mph exit road from my residential community on to a four lane road. Sadly, that specific intersection displays wrong lane assist advice on my Garmin 855 nearly every time I drive through it while in active navigation.

hello Garmin nuvi 255/265/275 owners!

decided to start a new thread to get better response.

I am trying to restore all stock selection of languages to my nuvi 275T (I deleted other language files from it in the past).

I would like to ask you to send me a copy of 2 untouched folders from your nuvi 2x5, locations:
a) Garmin\Text
b) Garmin\Help

OK I have been working on this for the past 5 hours,

I tried all the other recommendations from the Original Article (How to install a map update directly to a SD card.)and I can get maps to install directly to the SD No problem at all I can do this in minutes, The 1390 NEVER finds them if they are not on the internal Memory.

If I set language text to french, as soon as I reboot the device, the default state, ie. Québec,Canada has disapeared. If I hit the "change state or country" button, it cannot find anything. If device is setted in English, there's no problem whatsoever.

May be in the wrong forum, but I have a Tom-Tom and their voices are a bit more expansive than Garmins (I'll probably be corrected). I have a really neat one that I love. Its a Grandmother that speaks in broken English (Hungarian native). An example when you arrive at your destination is; "If you did vat I toldt you to do, you are vhar you are supposed to be.

I would love to know the phones that DO WORK with their Blue Tooth on the Garmin Blue Tooth end. Garmin won't commit to all the phones and I can't blame them,but they do miss marketing opportunities. I have a WW-II (read old phone) LG-150 with Blue tooth that works GREAT with my 1490t and my older 265W. Am I beating a dead horse or is this a new thread?

So I went to Best Buy this weekend and was considering upgrading from my 765T. I was quickly disappointed by the build quality. It felt like a very light cheap piece of plastic. I thought it was more like the glass 3790 model was but I guess they changed it (maybe due to glare?). I also punched in (and simulated a route) that was over 150 miles and it took almost 2 minutes to calculate this?

Just curious.

Everytime I update system or maps, I see a warning to ensure the GPS battery is fully charged before continuing.

Maybe I'm missing something, but my two GPS's (1490T & 260) both seem to charge while connected to the computer via USB cable.

I say this because the battery level seems higher after disconnecting.

Is the warning outdated?

Tried searching in existing forums but no luck.

I want to know if I can add extra map symbols to the supplied nuvi library so that I can use with my personal favorites. I find existing library lacking icons such as hockey arenas, specialty restaurants ect.

I tried to do the recent map update on my 1490 Nuvi and it says that isn't enough room and to choose a smaller map file.
I've deleted all my POI's and all the extra voices and languages and vehicles I can find.
What else to I need to do.

I've had no issues in the past.

As I was planning a trip to Wellfleet, Ma (Cape Cod) I came across this problem with Basecamp:

With the installation to NA 2012.3 my 855 is now showing some trails in the DC metro area. They show up as brown dashed lines in MapSource & BaseCamp. I first noticed the added trails while driving past the U of MD campus (N38.984 W76.943) on US1. Anyone else notice the addition of trails to 2012.3 in their area.

Both my 885t and my 765t required me to reinitialize bluetooth for them to show they were connected to my blackberry after I installed 2012.30. Is that normal? In both cases, they still showed they were linked but there was no icon on the screen for the phone. The phone also thought it was linked but I decided to play it safe and reconnect. Maybe it was just the icon didn't come up.
