Trails added to 2012.3

With the installation to NA 2012.3 my 855 is now showing some trails in the DC metro area. They show up as brown dashed lines in MapSource & BaseCamp. I first noticed the added trails while driving past the U of MD campus (N38.984 W76.943) on US1. Anyone else notice the addition of trails to 2012.3 in their area.

I wondered what they were! I have a lot of them showing in my neck of the woods. I thought they were some type of boundary lines, but now I know. Thanks!

There are several well known

There are several well known trails near my home in Tampa, FL. That's a neat unexpected feature!

Trails added to 2012.3

They are displayed in automotive mode. Hopefully, Garmin won't try to route us over a trail! Probably would be best if we could disable the display of trails in automotive mode, or at least have them distinguishable from the minor roads. It can be confusing if you're using the Garmin as a map to find a shortcut.

Canadian Trails since 2012.10

@baumback, thanks for pointing this out! I went back and had a look at earlier maps, and it turns out we've had trails showing in the Toronto area since 2012.10. Examples are Toronto Island, High Park, Humber River, Don Valley.

Never noticed it before because of the minimum zoom levels. For MapSource it's 300m (0.2 miles) or less. BaseCamp has a higher minimum of 700m (0.3 mi). On my 1490 the minimum zoom is 300m.
