Not enough room for map update

Do not know if you have the same sets of folders that I do on my 765, but you can look.

I have an Audible folder that has several audible book teasers - which I do not need.

I have a Help folder that has files I could delete.

I have a JPEG folder with files I do not need.

I have both a Text and a Voice folder that have languages, but I think you got those.

I didn't know I could get rid of the help folder. I'll try that. Thanks

Did you make a backup before you deleted the stuff?

just in case. I'll add things back if I can get the update to install.
Working on it now.

After deleting almost everthing I could find the install worked for US & Canada. Now I over 200 mb free and I can re-install most of the files. It must have just needed the room to work with.

Glad to see you say "reinstall" because I should have mentioned "Backup" in my post. Since you say you had 200mb free after the last set of deletions, I would be interested in how much you were able to remove in total?

Don't forget you will want "Custom POIs".

Maps and POI's can also be put on an SD card.

I had a similar situation.
I went to update my 1490T and I only had room for the lower 49 states map.

Ahhh, the ole 1490 limited memory rears its head again. I feel your pain (having a 1490 meself).

I used a new 4GB card for the map. I have all 50 states, all of Canada & Mexico and the Bahamas on it. I also have the large JCV file on the card.
I now have 277MB free on Nuvi and 298MB free on the card.
