I downloaded a redlight camera poi into my c550. It shows up under the Custom poi section, just fine. Now according to the manual for these to work I need to change the system settings to enable 'proximity alarms'. Also, according to the manual it states that option is only visible when a custom poi has been loaded.

I have a NUVI 350. It likes to take me down a "local" street that I prefer not to travel (to small).

I changed the vehicle from the "car" to the "truck" and it no longer routes me down that local street.

Has anyone else seen that happen?

When Nuvi is set to go a place, it displays projected time (arriving time) to the destination. Is it possible to display remaining time rather?

Was running errands today and put my nuvi 660 in the arm rest pocket of my Sequoia - the lower deep pocket - at one of my stops but left it on as usual to avoid start up delay. Well, I forgot to pull it out and was driving down the road when I heard a warning bell deep in the arm rest pocket. I realized it was the alarm for a redlight camera intersection I was approaching.

This weekend I came across a few pois that have moved or closed. Is there a way to delete these so i dont end up wasting my time driving to a store that has moved, without waiting for an update for my nuvi 660.

Having just bought a Nüvi 310, that is "As quiet as a Whispered Prayer" :-(, it's looking likely that I'm going to have to connect it to external speakers, in some form or another.

The question is: how robust is that Headphone Jack? - Does anyone have experience of plugging and unplugging it on a daily basis?

Has anyone had this happen? Was running a route that I made using MapSource,US64and US13 in eastern NC, Was on the road I was supposed to be on but the gps showed I was way off to the side(maybe a quarter mile), but it showed the road I had plotted on the screen highlighted so I know the road wasn't to new to be on the mapversion8 that I have. Just wandering why.

Has anyone else had trouble with the C330 hanging up every 5 or 10 minutes. Haning where you have to do a reset and in 10 minutes its hung again. I was using the Map feature no the where to, when this happened it was showing where I was on the road and the speed then it just hung while I was moving.

I have a C330 have not yet tried to load any pois in. Do the cvx files (once all put in computers same directory to ready for loading) have a heading/directory built in so they show up in the "custom pois" as different directories on my garmin...such as restaurants/red lights/speedtraps and so forth Cam

I just recently purchased a used Nuvi 660, but it did not come with the traffic receiver. I love the nuvi, but wondering if it worth the 150+ cost for the FM plug. I live on the north side of Atlanta. The traffic sucks here so bad, that the alternates that I know of are always backed up anyway?

So Atlanta users is it worth your wild or did you re-up your subscription?

I bought one of those 3-legged dashboard mounts for my c330. The power adapter has stopped working. I notice on the adapter plug is a little tag that says "replacement fuse F2A H 250V". But is the fuse replaceable? I can't tell where it lives.

I find that I like to set my map to have North UP and not the other two options - 3D or car going up all the time.

If North is up I am less likely to get confused as to where I am heading... but how do you like it?

Well, the saga of increasing the volume setting on my c530 had a successful ending.

I was wondering if there would be any interested in compiling a Mapsource Custom Icom "Library". My thought is that although we already have .bmp files for many of the POI files, perhaps we would want to create a "libary" of custom icons that we could use with our Mapsource software. I know that you can have up to 64 custom icons and it might be nice to share them with other users.

Garmin has some new Up-Dates for the C330.

Up-Date was easy, and so far No problems with any of them.

I've had my Nuvi 350 for a couple of weeks now. Today, it is acting a wacky. On my way to work, it consistently showed my driving on the next road over. It also showed my altitude as -90 ft and it should be around 1100 ft. I cycled the power several times and it was better, but still off.

I bought a Nuvi 660 and absolutely love it. The screen is really bright and easy to see in the day. I later bought a Nuvi 360 for my other car and have been disappointed with the screen. Don't get me wrong, the screen is still day viewable and better than most other GPS units, but is no where close to brightness of the Nuvi 660. Is it just mine, or are they all that way?

I am using Daniel right now. He seems clearest to me, and it's as close as I'll ever get to having an English butler.

My favorite thing so far is how he says Boolevaad.

But my street is Catalina (Cat-a-LEAN-uh). Daniel says it cat-AL-ina.

In general, he has trouble with spanish based words. Names that start La he says Lay.
