gps used on golf course

 

i have a garmin legend and a friend told me about a great application that makes the gps a range finder on the golf course. i contacted GOLFLOGIX and asked if i could download the softwear and the quickly said no,, i have not tried it yet but was wounder if anyone has,,, thank you

Found it. This is using a garmin reciever but the opperiing systems has been modified. this is not something for you to download into a existing stand alone unit.

I am using something like this. It is made by Skygolf. the unit I am using now is the Skygolf SG4. Great unit and they were the first to market with this device. I also owned the SG2 unit and is the size of a pager. IF you golf a lot I highly recommend it.

Had never thought of this... but, for those avid golfers... it would be pretty slick.

Take your GPS along on your next outing. Waypoint all the holes and create your own course database. My guess (since I don't golf) is that players are going to tend to play the same courses in their areas. Or maybe play visited courses more than once. So, would think it be great to be able to know what the second & third shot to tee distances are.
