I am having difficulty getting the Phone Book on my Blackberry transferred to my SP 550.

I downloaded a couple of POI databases for the first time today and I need a little help. I first downloaded Love's Travel Stops and they displayed under MY Favorites. Then I downloaded OK state parks. This was successful, but now I can't locate the Love's locations. I assumed POI's would appear in order of proximity, but now all I see under POI's is the state parks. How do I see all or select?

I just got off of the phone with Garmin. If you want MapSource on your computer and only have the Map Update 2008 disk that updated your GPSr, you can do it. Find the file on the disk named CNNANT2008Update_ENU and double click on it. The ENU part specifies English. The others are different languages. It will install.

i have a unit that was stolen here, its a nuvi650. has anyone from the bay area of california had one of these ganked recently? if you can describe a unique mark on it or let me know a serial number i'd be happy to help it find its way home

Is it possible to have POIs appear on the screen automatically? That is, I can "go to" a poi, but I would like to see local POIs when I am nearby. For instance, Rest Areas should appear on the screen automatically, without me specifically searching for them and selecting them as a destination.

is there a way to "imbed" the alert distance in the folder containing the poi file, bmp and mp3 file? as the number of folders grows the time it takes to manually add this information in poi loader gets longer. the nuvi 660 overwrites with each "sync" so i'm trying to find a way around having to add distance each time. thanks in advance.

I'm new to this POI editing stuff so please bear with me. I see that some of the files have csv extensions and I can open them using MS Excel but is that the best way to edit and create them? And another question, I have the Garmin Nuvi 660 with a 1GB SD card which holds all my POI files however I was wondering does this slow the unit response time down at all?!

Hi I am new to GPS and/or creating custom POI.

I have downloaded a list of Second Cup POIs for Canada, but the file only has address, and I can't get the GPS (Nuvi 650) to search for "second cup" and find the locations I just added.

So I looked at other files and noticed that the file was structured like:

Longitude, lattitude, "Name of location - address"

while this file was

I know this may seem horribly obvious to some of you, but I discovered a quick way to mute my Nuvi 200...locking the screen!

So, if your chosen navigator is reading things aloud to you, just slide the power switch over to lock and it'll shut him/up! Of course, the screen is now locked, but for a quick mute it's easier than going into the settings menu.

I see where Costco has the Garmin 360 listed for $250 - on-line only. I have the 860 and love it! It has so many bells, whistles, and other "stuff" that I joked with the kids that I need to take a class to learn how to use it.

On a nuvi 760, how does one turn off a POI alert when it is sounding? I know where the setting is in the system tools, but I'm asking if it is possible to silence an alert, but not change a system setting. It seems to me one would just tap the screen, but that didn't work.

I've noticed a problem with the proximity alerts on my Garmin Zumo 450. The problem being that I will only get camera warnings going one direction through an intersection.

This is our first time on a trip since getting our nivi 750. When I try to enter city name, and them "done" it take me to the search citys page. I thought as soon as you started entering cities, a list of possibilities would pop up as you type ?? Either my gamin 570 does not have this or I am doing something wrong. Help

Currently, I have the NT V8 map in my Nuvi 350. I wanted to upgrade to the NT 2008 map. I can load various states using MapSource onto a SD card and it works fine. However, I wanted to install the completed update NT 2008 map into the Nuvi 350 hard drive. The problem is I don't have enough disk space.

I find many POI's inaccurate on my 200W.
Is there a way to edit the preloaded POI's?
