Nuvi 680 used to display text messages.

Hi guys, and gals.
I have a Nuvi 680 and I use the Bluetooth feature with my motorola Razr v3 and everytime I received a text message when driving, the GPS used to display the message for me on the screen so I could read it or the GPS would read it to me if I chose. Well after 2 weeks it stopped working and I have reset the unit, deleted the phone and re-install it and I'm not able to get the text messages anymore, the Bluetooth work great and I can retrieve my phone book and call log but the message feature doesn't work anymore.
Has anybody had a similar problem?
Thanks in advance...

Erik

New firmware

My bluetooth stinks since I installed the new updates. Garmin knows about it and the last I spoke with them, they were working to fix it. The older version of bluetooth worked better.

Good to know...

Thanks for the info! =)

You can roll your Bluetooth firmware back to the previous version which should alleviate the issues you are having.

The previous version of the Bluetooth firmware is available from this link.

Just drag and drop the extracted .gcd file into the GPS's GARMIN:\Garmin\RemoteSW\ folder

Then once you disconnect the unit from the computer and start it up, go to the dashboard screen. It may differ on different models, but press and hold the speed indicator for about 10 seconds. Then you should get a screen that allows you to install the Bluetooth firmware.

I have the nuvi 680 and I

I have the nuvi 680 and I hooked up to my phone fine. I did the update and then couldn't do the update. I would have rolled back to the previous bluetooth firmware, but didn't know I could. Instead I went to Garmin's site and found some information about updating the firmware and how to get to the diagnosticts of the gps. I went to the spedometer screen and pressed and held the speedo display on the dashboard screen and got to the diagnostics. Then kept hitting next til I got to the bluetooth screen. I hit the update button from there and a minute later, everything was working perfectly again. I guess the new firmware wasn't installed completely through garmins webUpdater?
