New Nuvi's

I know Garmin wants you to buy a new unit for everyone they make, and I'm glad they are making new ones, but I see alot of people with 6xx angry they couldnt upgrade to certain features of the 7xx, and now so quickly release the 8xx. What are we supposed to do sell our used ones for half, and pay top dollar for each new one. I don't know how practical, but even if they offered certain upgrades for a price, as downloads. They should have like Verizon's new every 2...months that is

GPSr's are similar to other electronics (cell phones, PDA's, PC's, Notebooks ..etc), everyday there is something new.

I would suggest to keep your old units till you really need newer features.

I agree. I have a 330 and am totally happy with it. It gets me from point A to point B in cities I'm not always familiar with. Do I need all the other bells and whistles???....no. I needed a GPSr and is what I have. Not a mp3 player.....not a picture viewer.....not a phone....just a GPSr....nothing more, nothing less. smile

its funny with cell phones

its funny with cell phones always expanding new features, and GPS expanding, they are not far off, It allready is pretty much going to be one electronic device for everything ipod, phone, picture viewer. When im not using my gps i can hang it on my wall as a photo lol, then play music when the party starts then call and direct everyone over, and play games, soon itll replace my laptop. whats next, email anyone? internet.

Iphone

Sounds like an iphone! Pretty nice to only carry one gizmo. Neal

Nuvi 255W/European SD card

Most features Arent new

The things missing on my Nuvi 650 are on my 2 year old Etrex Legend Cx Like routes and Bread crumbs and North Arrow...and the ability to add some Data Screens to the map page..Like Choose between ETA or Time or Speed. or all 4...It also has Games and a few things even the 800 series doesn't have. It is a shame the "offroad" and Onroad parts of Garmin dont work together.

Convenient...yes. But what happens when this device fails. S.O.L....I'd rather have seperate devices thanks.

one thhing pretty annoying

one thhing pretty annoying of having so many devices is chargers all over the place, and running out of pockets, or i dont want a seperate suitcase just for devices, when you think of adding the cost of each device we are putting out alot of money, how many cell phones, ipods, gps etc we all been through. Like mentioned previously, the I phone does come pretty close, for a pretty reasonable price, its only a matter of time.
