Garmin talk

Has anyone tried installing the downloadable games from Garmin on a 750? The site says they're for the 8xx and 5000, but I was curious, and didn't want to spend the money if we knew they didn't work. Thanks!

hi i just got a garmin 680 yesterday and was wondering is there anyway to get different voice prompts for that unit like celebs or tv characters etc.?

This post could have been included in any number of other posts, Costco prices, 2009 update, or prices dropping, etc., but I decided to start a new one.

First Good Morning to all POI Factory & Garmin Buddies from HOT TEXAS - now a ?

I kind of like what I have seen commented on about the Garmin beanbag mount.

Does anyone in Ontario have some idea where I could purchase one? I know I could buy one through eBay or some other online location, but if it is coming in from the USA, then there is all the hassle of duty and taxes and all that stuff that I would rather not deal with.

Help, I am new to this. I recently purchased a Nuvi 750 and I could find no place in the menus to turn alerts off or on. A Garmin tech advised me that the 750 will handle alerts and that the normal place this menu would be found is under "tools" "settings" and then the down arrow. Is is not there or anywhere else.

Are POI (not favorites) tied to maps? In other words, if I switch maps (ie:world maps or Euro maps)will the POI still work / show up?

Anyone bought a Garmin 350/360 recently from Amazon? Does it came preload with the NT 2008 or 2009 map?

They have a TomTom unit with the Garmin interface.

It's about time TomTom recognized the superior interface that Garmin uses.

Looking for a bicycle mount for my nuvi 350. Anyone have any ideas?

I was wondering if you think Garmin would update the UI which they are using for the nuvi 2*5 models to the older nuvi models. Eg. the graphical turn arrow and speed indicator. It seems that all those changes can be done with a firmware update. Think it is possible Garmin would update the older ones? Thank you.

My Friend Rigo Ramos is going to mexico next week is there anything he needs to do to use his garmin 550c out of the U.S. Any suggestions would be appreciated

This might be a crazy question but exactly what is MapSource and what does it do? When I bought my GPS the 2008 US Map was already on my Nuvi 780. I did not have to download anything. I know recently found out I can get the 2009 US Map for free so I'm working with Garmin customer support to get my free download since I bought my gps recently.

I recently downloaded mapsource from Garmin. I modified a route the program initially mapped and then sent the map to my Novi 260. I didn't find the map in the unit. Presently I do not have a memory card in the unit, not sure if that would be a download requirement. (Any hint on what to look for or is this a feature of higher Garmin models?)

So I've downloaded tons of things from this website and I'm pretty sure that it probably came from here, but I'm not positive. Sometimes randomly my Garmin Nuvi 660 starts beeping every couple seconds and displace a speed alert of 3mph. I haven't set any speed alerts on it and I'm not sure where it came from. One example of where it happens is Route 37 in Toms River, NJ. Any ideas? Thanks

I know after the three months trial is over, you have to pay like a monthly or yearly subscription fee but can you just get a one time deal subscription? Also do you guy use the features and find it helpful?

Hi, still getting to know my Nuvi 760.

On my new Zumo 550, when I create 300 mile, 30 waypoint routes in MapSource, after they are imported, there are 3-5 Waypoints per route missing when reviewed in edit>add/review points. They are converted into shaping points, without a flag in the map. If I recalculate, for example to add/remove a waypoint, these shaping points are lost. My SP2720 loads these routes flawlessly.

Does anyone know if there is a POI file for speed cameras around the US. I know there is a big Red Light Camera POI that is being updated regularly but is there a Speed Camera POI file?

I am wondering if my garmin will be of any use on the water? Anyone tried it? Bill
