Garmin server

I've been spending the entire day trying to update my garmin c330 and add the 2009 update that i bought. Says there is a problem trying to connect with the garmin website and server.

Anybody know what is going on?

Map Update

I read other posts and it looks like the on-line download takes a while to complete Others are requesting the Disk and doing the update that way.

When I tried

When I tried getting in to Garmin site yesterday I go notice it was undergoing routine maintenance!

Buy the Disc

You can buy the disc online for under $60 including shipping from several retailers. The disc also includes MapSource. I'm not sure if the download has MapSource or not. I had my upgrade in 2 days and now I have a backup in case my computer or Nuvi ever crashes.

I bought mine for $48 plus shipping here: http://www.antonline.com/p_Garmin--010-10989-01--Garmin-010-...

Ordered on a Sunday and had it in my hands on Tuesday.

Up and Down

I'm not sure what is going on, but for the last month or so several of the links have not worked for several days at a time, then they come back. I don't know if they are upgrading or got a new webmaster...

guess they don't work on Sunday

Well, got on it this night and upgraded my unit and installed the 2009 map. So, guess they were snoozing yesterday. Worked all fine and dandy today.

The Garmin website is notorious for failing when it gets too busy, so try again at a different time of the day.
If all fails, try contacting Garmin, or purchase a disk elsewhere, you might have better luck.

Buy the disk...

If you have to Buy by all means buy the disk...it is so much faster..and less chance for errors. In Fact if I had a C330 I would Sell it and Buy a Nuvi 200 that has the new maps..it might be cheaper..

map upgrade

i used the disk that i got from garmin and the upgrade was a breeze.

Map Upgrade disk

I called Garmin about my free upgrade disk. They said there would be a $10.00 shipping fee for the free disk, ok. I told them I live in Canada and they said that they would not send it to me. They said they had to many people upset by the time they got the disk. The $10.00 disk ended up costing $30.00 to $50.0 with tax and custem fees. So I ended up downloading it. It took about one hr. to load to my nuvi 750.

It's really not worth it to

It's really not worth it to pay for that. Especially $60. :/
