POI's showing on map

On my Garmin 650 I have "Favorites" and "Extras". The "Favorites" show on the map and "Extras" do not. When I download POI's they are downloaded into the "Extras" and I have to get out of the map and search "Extras" to see what is close.
Having icons and sounds available on POI Factory indicates to me that I am missing something. How can I have POI's show on map?
Zoom
You must zoom in all the way and if that doesn't do it, you must change the display mode from 3D to 2D.
Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

You also need to be sure that your image files are named correctly so that they will be displayed on the map.
