265wt poor (free) traffic reception
Ever since I got this unit Christmas, I've been trying everything I could think of to determine why my free traffic reception is so intermittent, whether driving or in my house (I use an adaptor so I can plug in the cigarette adaptor to a 120V outlet in the house).

New 755T Review

They liked it in general. Say it is worth upgrading. Didn't like the underpowered FM transmitter or lack of ability to exclude roads.

Traffic Avoidance on the Nuvi 760
I've had the Nuvi 760 with FM Traffic (GTM 20 Receiver) since early Nov '08 and though I have the "avoid traffic" avoidance enabled on the GPSr, I find myself having to push the yellow diamond icon on the screen to have the 760 actually reroute me around the delay ahead.

Cheap ugly looking power cords
Most GPS units these days have a longer than necessary power cord (that won't remain straight) consisting of butt ugly cheap black vinyl except for the good looking taunt power cord/FM traffic that comes with the Nuvi 265WT.

Garmin 265WT Question
Question for people with the 265WT. I got one for xmas and it died 2 weeks later. The first one i got was working well until it died. The power cable had the light on the top of power plug just a little red light. The new one seems to work a little different. It does not give as much notice of upcoming turns and the power light on the cable in a rectangle at the rear of the power plug.

Nuvi 780 will not boot or talk to PC.
I did a search on RESET but found no relevant post. My 780 will not get past the "Loading Maps" screen or connect to my PC. Is there any easy fix??

Garmin spokesman releases sales figures for Jan-Sep 2008 period
Garmin saw a 56 percent increase in the number of devices sold in the first nine months of 2008, compared with the same time frame in 2007, according to spokesman Jake Jacobson. Garmin sold 10.6 million GPS devices from January through September, for $1.71 billion in revenue, he said.

Speed alerts
Hi there,
I installed the speed alerts. Now when I am driving the speed alert seems to pop quite frequently. Why would that be? Is there a way to remove the speed alerts?

Custom POI Anomaly in nuvi 8xx
There's an anomaly in the 850 nuvi in that it doesn't refresh the custom POIs in its volatile memory until the receiver does a COLD start. In the 850, that means you have to remove the battery and re-insert it since the "power switch" doesn't fully power the unit down.

Garmin Nuvi 780 to be discontinued??
Is the Nuvi 780 going away?? I was hoping to pick one up from Big Box Buy for $299 but it is no longer listed online and the last time I went into one of their stores there wasn't a tag for this model. I guess the 785T is the replacement. Anyone have any info that I can't find?

Security feature question
On the latter topic, does anyone know the radius of the security location effectiveness? 10 yards, 100 yards, half a mile? Would I have to park in the exact same spot to unlock it?

Setting speed indicator
So I just purchased a Nuvi 250W. I hear that some GPS's can set an speed indicator alert. Is this possible on this model and if so how? Garmin's manuals are a little bare. I remember that I found some undocumented features about my old C330.

Im Confused about something..
Help me with something...
I have the red light camera thing and when i get close to one it alerts me w/ a popup message on my map area, in the center of the map just above the vehicle icon, saying redlight camera along with the code.

Garmin compatible with my phone
I have been a Garmin user since day one but I couldn't find one compatible with my phone, a Samsung SGH a437. Does anyone know if I can pair my phone with any particular garmin? I switched to a Sony for the Bluetooth but I am not satisfied with the performance of the Sony (it can't compare to the Garmin.) Any help will be appreciated.

NUvi 660 question: does the icon file that goes with the POI location file have to be the exact same file name to work properly
Loading custom POI files from this site along with icon and sound files.
1. Do all three have to have the exact same file name in order to work?
2. How do i link them to each other once loaded or is it automatic?
