Garmin talk

I was driving through Fort Lauderdale listening to MP3's through my FM Transmitter, When it was time to announce a turn, the voice started to spazz out, I lost all sound and the Roads disappeared! I had to restart the unit to get the roads back, still no sound, I restarted a second time, now I have voice back! Does this have anything to do with my MP3's on SD Card?

I'm thinking about getting an SD card with Europe maps for my nuvi 750. What's the consensus on these maps from those who have used them? Any thoughts on the Garmin branded vs. the eBay versions - which imply they are the exact same maps? Thanks in advance....

Just got back from my local Bestbuy. As I walked by the GPS dept. I noticed no 7x5 or 885 units on display so I asked if they were soldout or had been pulled. The clerk told me all Bestbuys had pulled those units off the shelf. That should put a dent in Garmins revenue and hopefully wake them up to the customer as beta tester business plan is doing more harm than good.

I have deleted the none essential voice files can the (gtt) files be deleted to for more space?

I have several issues, or problems. Firstly, I've recently downloaded mapsource to do routing and transfer routes to the 760. Yes, I know the 760 will do the routing but every day I get 20-40 new waypoints that come from Streets and Trips, or in .CSV form.

In general, how are they?

I just ordered one, and I'd appreciate any thoughts.

How does one go about getting the original pois back on a Garmin 350 once they have been overwritten?

I loaned my nuvi to someone and they "reloaded" the pois..... I had told them not to do that... Arggg!

I would like to know if there is any way to set the red light camera alerts? Now they appear as a dot, and by the dot it says that Red light Camera. I saw a picture of a Garmin Nuvi that shows the alert as a red banner on top of the map.
I have a garmin nuvi 750, 255W and 260W.

I have installed Garmin's POI Loader software into my Win Xp machine. Created a folder and downloaded a file to it. When I start POI loader and attempt to transfer the file to Garmin I get an error message telling me the folder is empty. If I then go back and attempt to download the file again I get a message that the file already exists in that folder.
Where am I going wrong here?

Costco has the Garmin 855 on sale and I was surprised by the amount of negative reviews that it has received even after firmware updates. I was thinking of getting it for my daughter. Now I hesitate even with the great return policy at Costco. Any feedback from POI Factory users that are current owners of this unit would be appreciated.

I'm curious as to which avoidances people enable, or disable, and why. I am still using the defaults and have just wondered about changing them.

I believe most units have these selections, maybe except for traffic:

U-Turns
Highways
Traffic
Toll Roads
Ferries
Carpool Lanes
Unpaved Roads

Can anyone tell me why, when I turn off my 885T and store it's case, it sometimes looses battery life overnight and other times it will last for weeks?

Here is another elementary question. I have uploaded routes from Mapsource to my GPS, and it works great. However, I tried to upload waypoints, and Mapsource says the data was successfully transferred, but I don't know where to find it on my unit. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I tried to upgrade to a newer map and have now RUINED my nuvi 200w!

I 'copied' my map files before I began.

Now that my attempt at upgrading failed, I am trying to 'paste' my original files back onto my nuvi but now it is saying that I do NOT have enough space!

How is that possible when I just took the files OFF of the exact same unit?

MAN. I hope someone can help me, I have a 265wt. I am having problems with the ecoroute. When I turn the unit off after I get out of my car for the night, when I return to turn it on the next day, my ecoroute has done some pretty serious traveling while I slept.
