Buying 2009 Map Question

There appears to be a number of reasonably priced 2009 maps around (under $40.00). If one were to buy one of these maps would you be entitled to one free upgrade to the latest version i.e. 2010?
And why
Would a 2009 map that has been replaced with a 2010 version be entitled to a free upgrade?
This could be a case of a dealer's overstock or it could be someone trying to unload a previously installed map on an unsuspecting buyer.

I think this is one of those situations where the person asking the question already knows the answer but is hoping he/she is wrong!!
alrom45 - no, you are not entitled to the latest 2010 version if you buy a 2009 map.
