Our Vista Laptop got really confused, and I eventually started over, and now am running W7 64 bit OS...

How will that affect POI Loading, and is there a new loader for W7? The version I have is: 2.5.3.0

hello
i am just new to this discussion board and to a nuvi 265wt.
i have had a c330 for several years.
i have tried many times to dowload poi's and putting them on the nuvi 265, (never tried on the c330).
whenever i try i get a message saying that the folder has no files.
i may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer but this has been an exercise in futility start to finish.

I've searched the FAQs and forum posts and I think I know the answer....but...

is it possible to add additional waypoint symbols to MapSource?

From what I've read, POI symbols can be added to via POI loader.

What if I just want to add the icon?

I have a nuvi 255W. When I am on a trip and it has a scheduled turn at the intersection that also happens to have a red light camera, I get the "Turn right at..." messages, but I don't get the red light camera "Bong! Bong!" alarm. I ran this path three times with the same results.

When I go to the 885T Hidden menu a button comes up that says Mic Gain. When I push it another window comes up that says ADC Capture Volume. and I can adjust it to go higher or lower, What is it ?

I'm planning to upgrade to Windows 7 and do a clean install. Where do I find a copy of my current map for my nuvi 760? I downloaded a free update when I first purchased the nuvi. Should I copy a file off the nuvi itself?

Just went into Webupdater and there was a new update for my 265T. Version 6.0 is now posted at Garmin. Couple of minor changes.

I just canceled my MSN Direct subscription and need to replace the cable with an FM receiver type. I'm looking at eBay and see that some GTM-20's are set up to receive Navteq and others are set up for Clear Channel. Which is better? I live in the greater NYC area. I also spend time in Montreal and Orlando/Daytona Beach area.

Has anyone tried to load any custom icons into the GPSMAP 76csx ? If so, what size and are they .bmp files? A step by step with any specialized programs would also help.

Does anyone know any benefits to using a GPX file? For the same data they are larger and take my GPS a longer time to parse when searching locations. I am wondering if I should just stick to CSV files.

With MSN Direct ending in 2012, which traffic subscription do you use and would you recommend, Navteq or TTN?

I'm thinking about buying a GPS for the wife's car, one with voice recognition so she wouldn't have to mess with menus. How reliable is Garmin's voice recognition? She wouldn't need bluetooth so I was looking at the Nuvi 885.

What do you think about the new zip folders for Red Light and Speed Cameras? I liked the old way, but these might prove to be a better solution. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

have used both products a while, and loaded latest NA city navigation 2010 map to mobile xt, and 2008 to nuvi. but recently i found mobile xt seems more accurate than nuvi in terms of locating. eg, i use my current location to set it as home, then input the address in where to go, mobile xt will tell u, arriving xx on...,while nuvi 360 tells continue xx hundred feet then arriveing xx on....

I just called MSN and asked them if I would cancel now how much would I get back. I had the service Aug to now. I am getting back 97.00 plus they are letting me have MSN Direct till Jan 1 2012. FREE.

Does anyone know if there's a way to specifically avoid a point on your route? For example, I was in NYC a few times this summer and each time on the way home I was routed through the Holland Tunnel.

I have an old trusty Garmin c330. Just recently the GPS will not charge in the window mount cradle. I've changed the fuse cleaned the contacts. Any suggestions? Right now I'm charging it in the car with the usb port using one of those I-GO chargers that you can swap out the tips to accommodate the device. This works ok but the charger cords are not very long so I can't put the gps where I like.
