765 late notice

Hello. My 765 gives me only a few seconds before a turn. In distance it is often 15 feet or less on a side street.

My 660 gives me much more than double the notice. Is there a setting I can change for this?

Thanks,

Pete

I don't think there is a setting for that, but you should be getting a lot more notice, than that.

Same here. You are not alone.

Late Notice

Check to see what the accuracy is in that area.

your speed

I've found that the speed at which you approach will make a huge difference as well, as the GPS does need to update your position. Does it do that at any speed?

Timing To Turns

Definitely check the accuracy of your acquired satellites and if its too large (mine ranges between 10 -25 ft usually), then you may need an antennae.

I like this advice...but only as a joke...

That remins me this funny explanation: why my car steering was pulling to the right? technician explained to me: "that's because there are helical gears in transaxle".

Late notification

Mine does the same when I am on residential streets at about 35 mph. It's often too late to make the turn.

I hope Garmin corrects this in a software update.

350 not late

I have a Nuvi 350 and it is not late with the turn notifications like the 765 is. So it would be an easy fix for Garmin to just adapt the same code it has to the 765.

Antenna

I do have an antenna connected and get an accuracy of 15 feet. The software on the 765 is defective it seems.

Common problem?

The late 765T cost me an excursion into downtown Houston both east and west traveling. Fortunately the recovery (recalculating smile ) made up the difference. It could be a near disaster given the right set of circumstances on a drowsy afternoon.

Hope it is fixed. But then I may have to cough up $65 to $120 for a map update if that is the problem.

Strange

I have never had this issue with my 765T

I have had all of the other issues that cropped up with this model, and finally have a good solid unit at this point.

But I have never experienced late turning directions on any sort of street at any speed

experienced this with my 755t with large building (nyc).....seemed to go away after a restart....never happened again tho...

I have the same type of problem with the 760, where my location is about half a block behind if my car is in motion. If I am stopped, the location is spot on.

No problem here

I don't have the late turn notice problem with my 765T.

Interesting.

Garmin 765T...Is it about the destination, or is it about the journey?

Updated maps, still have late turn notification

I updated my 765T with my one free map update and it still reports turns late when on residential street at about 35 mph. So that's not the problem. I hope Garmin will update the firmware to correct this problem.
