A question for for Turboccc

Since you are the whiz when it comes to Garmin progs, can you make a prog to remove the initial 'idiot' screen where you have to press OK to get to the main screen?

I would love it if you could, and I'm sure others would as well!

some help here

No, I am not Turbo, but this website has some info on editing the file to say something else, maybe even the timing, not sure. I read it a good while back and bookmarked it, so the info may not be too up to date. Something to digest while waiting for a reply from Turbo. It seems, someone else has already asked Turbo about the "idiot screen".

Unless you are the lead sled dog, the view never changes. I is retard... every day is Saturday! I still use the Garmin 3590 LMT even tho I upgraded to the Garmin 61 LMT. Bigger screen is not always better in my opinion.

Thanks!

I appreciate the post. I'll just hang out til Turboccc has the time to post.

Idiot screen

Hi Juggernaut,

I never tried to get rid of that screen. That is an interesting thought. I opened my gps 20 minutes ago for the wife and I could not remember at first what idiot screen you were talking about. I am so used to that screen that I clicked ok without even noticing it.

I can look at an old firmware for my 760 to see if I find something, but do not raise your expectations. This will be different for every models and a new custom code for every versions Garmin sends out.

Regards,

Turbo

Thanks for that

It was a thought that I considered to raise the bar for you on your already amazing work!

Once again, regardless of this thread, I want to thank you for all you've done for the GPS community. Simply outstanding!
