I have a question about wav files alerts for custom poi's on the c340. I know this is an old unit does anyone know if this has been done with this unit?

Since updating to the .30 version and my C530 updating 1 version to the latest firmware, I have noticed a marked change in performance when working with Custom POIs. They are loaded on my c530. Previously, after selecting Custom POIs, I would select the particular group I am interested in and it would appear almost instantly. Now there is a several second delay.

Hello, all. I'd bought my first Garmin (and first GPS) in Spring 2004, preparing for a cross-country road trip. It was a StreetPilot 2620 and boy, did that come in handy while wandering the country.

But the car I bought in 2006 had a navigation system built-in; it wasn't nearly as good as the Garmin--see

Amazon had the 285WT for $130, I think. But the price had gone up since then. You can still get the 265WT for $160 with free shipping and no tax most places.

Hey, I am new to this site and new to GPS systems. I just purchased a Garmin Nuvi 765T. I was hoping that I could get some help. Do you have any advice as to what I should do to avoid future issues (etc) right from the start. Should I plug it in a get updates, new maps and if so how do I do this?

Please help me. I have a Nuvi 755T and I loaded a lot of poi's but I can not get it to show up on map or get the alert sounds to work. To start with,, YES I have loaded pois and when I follow the directions, I go to TOOLS-SETTINGS- BUT there is no proximity point icon to go to. I can load pois and go to them but I want to have alert sound when I get close.

Lots of language files taking up space on my Nuvi. I don't plan to sell it to a non-English speaker (ok, I might keep Spanish), so I could make room for the 2011 map, which is sure to be another gig or so.

OK to delete?

I was trying to download the POI for Holiday Inns.
The only one I couldfind was a RAW file.
when I try to open it, it tries to open in Adobe reader. That program will not read this type of file.
How do I change it so it will go to Excel?

I read somewhere about doing a Hard Reset after downloading a map.

I downloaded 2010.3 and found a highway ramp that showed on the map, but for some reason my NUVI 350 seemed to think it didn't when it plotted a route.

When I got about halfway around the ramp, it seemed to recognize things properly.

Is a hard reset the right way to go or is this a map glitch?

Hello friends... quick question for you. What is the latest map version out now for Garmins 755t. I updated several months back and my garmin says my map info is on north american nt 2010.20 3d and on north american nt 2010.20 Do you know if that's the current map version out and can you advise how I could find this information without bothering any of you in the future.

Just got a nuvi 1350T, and so far pretty happy with it. It is lower end than my female's half, however will work for me. Two gripes so far are the mount that doesn't have the connector built in, and the ads displayed on the screen due to the "free" traffic.

I received my Garmin 780 a few days ago, and was checking the diagnostics screen. At the top it states "SW ver. 4.90 Nuvi 760 S M V3 INAND2 2GB" According to the box I bought a 780, not a 760! What gives?

Dose anyone have a File or Template or Macro for making POI File in excel. I would like a copy so I can submite POI for Mexico that I've found.

in trying to reduce the file sizes, i accidently deleted my English spoken tts files in English, i can not find the originals, and just got the unit... any help would be appreciated, as to where i can download these voices. Thanks.

I have not been able to find a summary but what are the advantages of each when determining which file to load ?

Does one have sound alerts where the other does not ?

Does one have proximity alerts and not the other ?

Is there software that will batch convert addresses to a GPX file ?

All of a sudden when I turn on my Garmin I have no voices showing (says NONE under voices). The voices are on the unit (I have checked). I back up to the start of the tools menu and click on Reset and OK for United States and then I have the voices. I entered a route and I had no voice directions at all. I have tried everything I can think of to no avail.

I have a nuvi 755T that came with Navteq Traffic - On a previous unit I had Totall Traffic Networkwhich is much more responsive. I purchased the lifetime Total Traffic for the nuvi 755T so now I show 2 subscriptions. I have a Navigon with Total Traffic and I compared the response - sometimes I get traffic on the 755T as fast as I do on the Navigon.

I have a new Garmin 205W (Best Buy $99) and have downloaded the POI Loader. My question is do I need to purchase the Garmin Trip and Waypoint Manager as well ?

I want to upload POIs of course but I want to download points that have been saved on my GPS as well if possible. Can I do that through POI Loader or just by saving files after hooking the GPS to my computer ?
