My Nuvi 760 will be one year old in 5 days and I'm not happy with how the battery charges, so I called today and got an RMA number from Garmin Customer Service. A very smooth procedure. The rep told me they weren't very busy now so I should get a new unit back quickly. He said because he was sending a new unit out, he would transfer my nüMaps Lifetime maps over to the new unit.

Well, a class action lawsuit concerning Speed Cameras has been filed in Maryland - FINALLY!

I read the article in today's Gazette & it sounds like it will be a long time in litigating. That must be since lawyers outnumber citizens in MD.

Using MSN service this morning, I noticed that the traffic alert function was neglibible. Several accidents on major freeway in northern Detroit area resulted in over 1/2 hour delays - yet MSN was only showing 7 minute delay. Anyone else notice a deterioration in MSN service since the announcement that they would be discontinuing service in the future?

I just can't seem to have any luck with my 765t. First, I've been having constant touch-screen issues and had to return 2 units because of that. Then I received a unit that sounded like it had a bad speaker. With the default volumes, it had that crackly foil sound whenever Jill would say something.

I messed up my Nuvi 1300

Somehow I corrupted the files and have all of these strange catagories in my "Favorites". Example: 2010-01-19t15:30:26z and many multitudes like it.
If I press the catagory a corrct entery will be listed. (Like a food store or something)
I have put so much time in loading up my favorites, changing the symbol and editing the catagories.

i think that's a cool feature in the site. how long has that been up? i dont remember seeing it.
so are all downloaded files put on there? i thought i downloaded some files (ie NE Schools) that were not included. oh well. i like how we can see the updated dates as well.

now, is there a way for us see a red light camera update date?

I noticed that there are a lot of errors on maps within federal areas (Military bases). I don't blame the map data base people because the problem seems to be in the federal people giving information.

How do you set or change the distance that coding for a csv file to alert for a redlight camera.

A friend we're travelling with just bought a Nuvi 1300. On the box it shows the display information (miles until turn, altitude, speed) displayed on the bottom of the screen.

On the gps it displays the info on the right side of the screen and takes up about 1/4 of the display space.

Does anyone know if you can change it to display the info across the bottom of the screen?

I have tried everything I can think of from the FAQs to get the icon and alert message to work on the RestAreasCombined(Ver.T) POI.

I set up a separate "upload" folder and placed the following in it. It looks to me like I made the correct modifications to the .bmp and .mp3 files.

I think price is good today only. It comes with MSN traffic, which is going away 2012. But it will work with FM traffic as well, if you get a FM traffic receiver. You need a promo code to get that price. If anyone is interested, let me know, I will PM you the code.

Might be old news but Garmin came out with new firmware for the 13XX and 14XX nuvi series on January 21st.
There is also a new keyboard file.

Anybody bought Garmin's lifetime map update online map code
from Amazon? Is it the same as any store bought map updates? Amazon said it's the digital version. Looking for feed backs before I buy..Thanks!

Hello everyone it's been a while since I posted here is there any way to get your unit to voice the location of one of your favorites when your in close proximity. Ie "you are now approaching IHOP".

I have it on my desktop, but need to add it to my LT for a trip. Is it possible?

havent loaded pois to garmin for a while
downloaded latest poi loader (using win 7 )
installed and ran program ( i had just downloaded some motel chain pois for road trip in march )and tried to load to my 255w .
i see the motel chain in extras as a poi
when the poi opens no address after each one

I was wondering if there is a way to change the speed proximity points so it sets off at .5 miles, without having to change this every time you use POI Loader to load more content.

If I go into manual mode and change when the speed proximity alert sounds, it works. However, it does not save that feature. Anybody know how I can save my distances for when the speed proximity points sound?

Not sure if I have this right. But it appears that I can load as many routes to my Nuvi 765T as I want using Mapsource. Then I can import up to ten files at a time from those routes to hold in the device memory. If I want to access any of the other routes, then I have to delete some of the ten that I have imported and then import what I want from the remaining routes that I loaded.
