396 LMT-S Bluetooth Connections
Looking for help again.
Connecting my Zumo 396 LMT-S to my Sony motorcycle radio via bluetooth to play through the speakers. Not using a smartphone!
Q1.Which bluetooth "radio" setting is best. The BT Audio or BT Phone to listen to GPS turn by turn commands?
Q2.Which of those connections is best to listen to the turn by turn commands and the MP3 tunes simultaneously? (IF possible)

custom Icons (with Base Camp?)
Ok guys,
I think I may have an understanding of what I need to do...Let me bring you all up to speed.
I have a ZUMO 595, I have several WAYPOINTS in BC that I want to save to my unit. Like camping spots, or swim holes, I use these when I ADV ride on my motorcycle.

GPX Files (DriveSmart 55 & Basecamp w/ Mac)
I have another question. How can I get my DriveSmart 55 read a GPX file from the SD card. Let me set some conditions. Macs cannot see the DS 55 or 65 units because Garmin isn't smart enough to Figure out USB-C on Macs. I can use Garmin Express, but not Basecamp to connect to my unit. I also cannot see the the file system, or the SD card in Finder, (Explorer).

Interesting Thought (camera on the Front)
My car, '20 Cherokee has a backup camera with the guides and braking. Jeep has the option to have gotten a forward looking "crash avoidance" camera.
How about adding the BC 40 camera to my DS 55, but install it on the Front Plate? I seem to have gotten really sloppy about pulling up to a sign post while parking. I think I'm 6" away, but I'm more like 6' away.

express.exe (network and other problems on Win 10)
Last 4 days or so I have had a problem on computer that stops pictures from showing up in my email. Also stops connecting to various sites like Facebook.. Small window pops up stating couldn't connect , OXc00000e5. Also HP CEE.exe and express.exe.
I tried to google and one person stated express.exe was in their software for Garmin navigation. They deleted it and their problem was solved.

POIs in Zumo 595
So I have a Zumo 595 and I have the POIs Sw loaded on my PC. I went into Basecamp and made several Waypoints (like water falls, Gas stations and places to eat) and saved them in a separate file. I exported them to my PC and ran the POI sw and saved them to my 595.

Drivesmart 65
You know those along the road or screen area icons you get as your driving as in Gas stations, restaurants and more stuff like that? I don't like that clutter. I want to turn them off, like i did with my 3590LMT and 2598LMT. I can't find a way to do that with this thing.
HELP....lol

Garmin Basecamp Problems on Mac Catalina
I have been a long time Basecamp users Mac. I know many folks don't like this app, but I have yet to find anything else on a desktop that has the database capabilities like it. But now I'm looking harder. I was running Basecamp 4.8.7 on MacBook pro in Catalina with no issues until I made the mistake of allowing it update to 4.8.8.

Old Exit Numbers I-84
Despite the last two Garmin map updates, noticed that Garmin still has the old exit numbers for Interstate 84 in New York, at least between Newburgh NY and the CT state line (didn't pay attention in CT).
Luckily, most of the exit signs on the road have a small "Old Exit X" on the mounting bars below the new, large, sign.

Drive Assist 51 with DashCam
I am looking to replace my nuvi 2689 and Dashcam with the above unit.
I use a dash mount for the nuvi as in some states it is illegal to attach items to your windshield. My dash cam is mounted on the back of my rear view mirror.
Is there a dash mount that you can purchase for the Drive Assist 51 or any other GPS with Dashcam?.

Why no password on newer Garmin models?
I'm still wondering why Garmin decided to stop including a password option on power-up.

Virgin 3597
Just picked up a NOS 3597LMT.
It responds quicker than my original in route calculation and screen refresh. Any ideas what causes the slower response? I'm assuming all 3597s have the same processor. The serial number on the new one is about 1400 higher than my original.

Which charging cable is better for my new drivesmart 55?
I have a gtm-60 from my 3590 and the ta-20 that came with the DS 55.
Both work, but which one is better suited for the drivesmart 55?
If the DS55 doesnt get digital traffic and only gets it through the app I might as well give the gtm-60 to my dad (whom I gave the 3590 to)

Just upgraded from a 3590lmt to a drivesmart 55
Like the title says, upgraded, figured it was time. the 3590 was 8 years old. I like the 55 mostly and added a ton of POI's. It's faster and BT pairs better (but still has horrible issues with pairing when you turn the device on, and I know it's not my note 9.. Believe me, the 3590 BT stack was way worse, it wouldn't even let the device shut down unless I turned off BT).

Automatically Load Custom Alert Distance
Using POI loader and loading POI files manually, one can set the alert distance to any number of feet.
Alternatively, I'd like to set the alert distance by adding a distance to the file name and loading the POI files on an express, automatic basis.
For a POI file of Rest Areas, would a file name like this alert 2 miles away?
"Rest Area_10560"
