Historical Marker Database

Just got a Garmin Drivesmart 65. Prior to this I have always loaded GPX files from Historical Marker Database unto my Garmin units. With this one, I get an error saying the files are invalid.

Anyone know anything about it or experience the same thing?

No. But take an SD card and

No. But take an SD card and make a folder Garmin. Then make a folder GPX IN that. Put that in the gps and start it. Give it a few minutes and see if the of the files end up on the GPS.

Your technique is interesting and very well may work. Not knowing any details other than what the OP says, my guess is that there is, in fact, a syntax error in one or more statements. Maybe it's something as simple as a header on the file that shouldn't be there.

Name of file???

We need to know the name of the Historical Marker file as there are several and I am not finding one that is a GPX file.

If nothing else, it will

If nothing else, it will rule out the GPS. If he is using the same files he used with another unit, that worked before it will let him know if there is an actual problem.

Starting with my 55 and 65, Garmin claims to not know how to work with Version 3 USB on Macs. I cannot use GE or BaseCamp or POI loader to load files, or update maps. I also can't see the drive and file system in Finder(Explorer) So I have to use the SD card to get any files to the unit.
