Yes.
You need to provide a matching WAV file. Think there are multiple threads of discussion can be searched.

Don't set your alert distance for too far out or it will drive you crazy announcing it over and over and over...

Don't set your alert distance for too far out or it will drive you crazy announcing it over and over and over...
Also don't set it closer than the EPE (estimated position accuracy) of your GPS or it may not alert at all.
The EPE in city "canyons" can be a block or more with some GPSr's.
Alert distance
IS IT POSSIBLE FOR MY GARMIN TO ANNOUNCE SPEED CAMERA OR RED LIGHT CAMERAS WHEN I APPROACH THEM...
I simply accept the default alert distance built into the redlight and speed cameras POI files offered on this site so you can choose to devote your attention to adding a wav file and if using a PC, following the FAQ regarding sox.exe.
You don't mention what computer system you're using and that would be helpful since Macs don't need the sox. Also, are you planning to use the redlight and speed camera files offered here at the POI Factory or are you asking about different files?
Will try it!

Got the access!
Hi,
I got the access and downloaded the files. I updated the unit with files (csv, wav and icon files). They are working fine!
One quick question, DS 55 comes with redlight alert but I found in my local area one redlight is actually not present but Garmin is showing redlight! In POI files it is not present (which is correct).
Should I keep enable both Garmin and Custom POI or only one?
Please advise.

Garmin's redlights
Hi,

Garmin's redlight alerts are a paid subscription service (Cyclops) and a necessarily out-of-date version will come on many of the newer Along the Road GPS devices. Unless you subscribe to the service, you will not receive up-to-date info:
https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=NjIqrNTpHR2wvQecTjtoZ6
My suggestion is to stick with The POI Factory's files for up-to-date info and because you can also add custom icons and audio alerts.
You can go into the files of your device and remove the older cyclops file although it's not necessary.
PS: Congrats on your windmill!
